Thanks for the thoughtful response! 1) makes a lot of sense, and 2) makes a lot of "emotional sense" to me (as opposed to "intellectual sense," I guess).

"Enters"? You mean they weren't already in racist meltdown mode?

What's the conventional wisdom as to why this is so bad, but eating meat basically gets a pass? Like, meat offers sustenance, yes, but it's by no means required. So basically, humans eat meat because it tastes really good

it's great "culinary entertainment."

This is a different kind of entertainment, but it's deeply offensive to many folks. I'm not trying to be a dick about it, just curious why this is seen as such a sin.

Is it that these animals weren't "supposed" to be killed? Would a movie about a beef cow who ends up getting slaughtered, both onscreen and IRL, be seen as better? Worse?

In San Francisco, a ticket for any event at the big arena (Chase Center

home of the Warriors) gives you free Muni transportation: https://www.sfmta.com/fares/your-chase-center-event-ticket-your-muni-fare

It's a start.

Sadly, Falco's Rock Me Amadeus came out several years before this revelation. I wonder what additional color would have been added to the song had it been known beforehand.

IIRC she named it not after herself, but her parents or grandparents...who of course share her name.

I think it's probably better to amend it to, "if it was covered in poop would you get rid of it and not replace it?"

Talk to your manager.

Shortly after I was hired, my manager told me I should feel free to decline any meeting that didn't seem useful, or that if it was preventing me from getting "real" work done.

Not parent, but when a minute isn't quite enough, 77 seconds might do the trick. Multiples of eleven are quick to enter, and with a simple nuker with no "minute" button, 66s is easier than 1:00.

On the one hand, that sucks, on the other...well, what really sucks is that it's probably necessary given the state of public transit and bikeability. (Haven't been to Nashville, so I can't comment on public transportation there.)

Any city in the US

I don't think that's correct, for example, San Francisco:

On December 11, 2018, the Board of Supervisors passed an ordinance (the “Ordinance”) eliminating required parking minimums citywide for all uses.
