I’m going to take a risk and say you write faster than you type and reaching for a pencil is quicker than launching a program.

Maybe for you, but opening KWrite takes only 5-6 key presses and I type much faster than I write

We don't need to go back to handwritten mail, FOSS is the way to go.

Yes, often the course is just hard or the students are lazy, but not always. I've had several teachers who were strangely proud of the low succes rates.

I do like how I can easily remember IPv4 addresses while I struggle to remember a single IPv6 address

I'm pretty sure the emotional support clown would have been a better fit for his position

I'm wondering how long it's going to take to revert this policy

I recognized the channel and read the DeArrow title, but still checked if he actually launched it myself 😅

  1. You can stop reporting this for spam, this is a crypto parody video explaining how the heart works, not a real pump and dump or crypto video

  2. @titty_wizard@lemmy.world could you reduce the clickbaityness of the video title a little? I know it fits the theme, but it makes it hard to figure out what it's about (as you can tell by the downvotes 😋). DeArrow gives me this title: "Explaining Heart Physiology Using Crypto Jargon".

Don't say anyway, say anyhow

In my proposal I suggest we strengthen the United Nations ability to provide assistance to worldwide efforts by providing the IAEA with a nuclear submarine with nuclear weapons capability.

The submarine would give it global reach and ability to engage in nuclear deterrence in any signatary, or not, country on the planet since 70% or so is water. Stealth capability would improve it's moral effect as countries would not be able to infer it's presence or absence on it's vicinity and tracking via satelites would be impossible.

The IAEA have many nuclear experts, so maintaining it would not be a big challenge and servicing the sub would be made on worldwide ports also signed with the IAEA.

This is NOT for peacekeeping, I'm not suggesting giving the UN an army, ONLY the submarine(s) and the nuke(s). Peacekeeping efforts are not in consideration of the usage of the nuclear weapons.

The nuclear weapons program would work with other UN branches to enchance their ability to provide assistance worldwide.

The usage of nuclear deterrence could be applicable in the following scenarios as examples:

  • Failure in following vaccination plans and return of eradicated diseases: Nuclear Deterrence;

  • Resistance to disease eradication efforts: Nuclear Deterrence;

  • Failure in providing adequate living conditions to the population in general: Nuclear Deterrence;

  • Precarization of educational efforts: Nuclear Deterrence;

  • Humanitarian abuse and violations of international law: Nuclear Deterrence

  • Not following international agreements on environmental pollution: Nuclear Deterrence

I could list more situations where having nuclear deterrece would help global effort in bettering our lives but I leave it as an exercise for the reader.
