Someone is going to be super triggered about a woman somewhere not liking women being portrayed as sexual objects in games and is going to post about it here

At its core this has nothing to do with Israel, the Heritage Foundation is only using that as a pretext to subvert Wikipedia. Wikipedia is at present a source of evidence-based information that often runs counter to the far-right lies they want you to believe.

Oh, I'm fully aware that's how you define the term liberal, along with much of Lemmy. As soon as you get off your screen is where that ends though, because the overwhelming majority of people in the US use a different definition. I'm not talking about pre-WWII Germany or the New York Times. I'm talking about a huge segment of our society for whom "liberal" and "progressive" mean the same thing and who the left-most among us continuously deride, ensuring unending division in the face of fascism.

Trump has always been about bluster. He's currently "blustering" at the entire world. In his mind, he's setting expectations and trying to put other countries on their toes/sow chaos to "improve his negotiating position." In reality, his behavior is depressingly predictable even when the specific content is not, and no one is going to take the bait.

I also think part of this is focusing the American public on big manufactured controversies that have no chance of ever actually happening to keep them distracted from the awful things that are going to be coming out daily very soon.

Dude, took the words right out of my mouth. Any excuse to blame "liberals" rather than the actual fascists. "But the liberals enable the fascists!!?" Fuck right off. I live in Texas, and my circles are predominantly college-educated, white, and middle-class (whatever that means today). We are the epitome of the liberal constituency, and there isn't a single goddamn person I know who would've voted for Trump over Bernie Sanders. All these cynical motherfuckers saying "liberal failure!!" are mistaking corruption and incompetence among the Democratic Party leadership for a coherent political philosophy.

Can't give someone a ticket when they refuse to give you their name and DOB. Know your rights, and hold the police accountable, but if you intentionally antagonize and resist the police when they make a very basic and very legal request, you're immediately on the hook for more charges.

I repeat, it was a joke

I told my kids to...

Surprise! Kids in the car got to see their father get his just deserts. Officers may have even made a CPS report, as a cherry on top. Sovereign Citizens love CPS cases, I've heard.

You're taking the joke way too seriously.

You're correct, the CDC didn't issue estimates that year because their sample size of hospitalizations was too low
