When a responding officer expressed concern about possibly facing a lawsuit for arresting the teens without good reason, Gall assured them that they had her support.

“Listen, but guess what, the good part is – the good part is I’m always on your side,” Gall said. “You know I’d take anyone down for you guys. You know that. You know that. You know I am on your side.”

Another one saying the quiet part out loud. Glad she's up for removal from the bench, since she doesn't care about the facts of any case involving the police

Thus their total % of medals being below 33%. They're right that there are two categories here...sports where one country could win all 3 medals, and sports where one country can only win one medal

These are the straightest answers I have ever seen. I expected better from Lemmy.

Here are two options for you:

  1. Create habitat for lightning bug larvae. Set aside parts of your yard to go undisturbed, leave the leaf litter there year-round, leave a couple logs out to rot, plant a few woody perennials there to provide some shade and retain moisture. You can do this and still also retain some lawn, if you want to.

  2. Turn off the lights outside your house. You don't need that floodlight on all night. Get a motion sensor if it's important enough to you. The artificial light disrupts their mating cycle, meaning the next generation in your yard will be smaller or non-existent. Reducing outdoor lighting also helps migrating birds find their way more effectively and allows you to see more stars.

  3. Never use pesticides, ever. Also tell your neighbors about how yard treatments intended to kill mosquitoes are much more effective at killing lightning bugs and bees than mosquitoes. The company selling you a mosquito treatment will straight-up lie to you about this.

Ok, so Salva's clearly disturbed, but besides supporting this guy's career, has Francis Ford Coppola been known to sexually harass people on set before? I feel like that would've come out before this if so, which leads to an inference there may be a genuine cognitive issue given his advanced age

a psychiatric condition that would justify hospitalization

Blaming homelessness writ large on mental health conditions is false. Homelessness has many root causes, and most of them are socioeconomic.

Of note, the overwhelming majority of unhoused folks don't have a psychiatric condition that would justify hospitalization. Someone with untreated schizophrenia running in the street and screaming is much more visible than the 20 other people sitting quietly out of the way suffering from PTSD or situational depression though, so I can see how you'd make that mistaken assumption.

Along these lines, there is no stupider entry in the American index than that of “Jeremy’s Razors,” a grooming company created by The Daily Wire, a conservative media platform founded in 2015 by Ben Shapiro (a political commentator you may have heard of) and Jeremy Boreing (a former film director you probably haven’t heard of, and the namesake for the venture).

This is a fucking Ben Shapiro product lmao
