If you shoot someone in your home who you previously invited into your home, you're going to prison.

The court's decision in Toma's case may have stemmed from several factors. When Sencuk applied for the protective order, he indicated Toma was a roommate — not the homeowner — so the nature of their relationship may not have been clear to the judge.

Additionally, Sencuk claimed he and Toma had an agreement that he would perform various maintenance and chores around the property in exchange for living in the garage, which may have seemed credible to the court. Toma denies this arrangement ever existed.

However, since the protective order was issued, Sencuk has moved out.

The guy never claimed "squatters rights," he sought a protective order against the other people in the house and lied to get it, then moved out before it was even issued

This is not true based on any existing definition. You're referring to a subset of talkative people

Not likely. How many similar Middle East conflicts have already happened since WWII? Why would this one be different

Most lightning bugs overwinter as larvae for two winters before pupating. A lot of the time, the weather and conditions two years prior can have a bigger effect on lightning bug numbers than the conditions that same year

Also the birds are definitely eating the insects, and that's ok! There should be enough to go around. The bird poop is only going to support further ecological development of that soil

Also leave portions of your yard undisturbed year round. Leave those leaves in your garden and spray them down with the hose every now and then if they get dry. Also run all those "mosquito control" companies out of town, because they're killing all the insects on all the properties around wherever they spray

Seriously sensationalist headline here

The comic isn't a lie. Lightning bug eggs need wet soil, and leaf litter protects the ground from drying out. The leaf litter also creates habitat for lots of small invertebrates which will become the prey of lightning bug larvae that would otherwise starve in a well manicured lawn

As if that made a difference when the people being demonized were Italian or Irish. Immigrants have always been used as scapegoats in the US to divide the working class, even when they were white
