We seem to be getting to them. Let them hire their mods, quality will go down, and we'll still be here :)

Edit: spelling

Im not a rust dev (yet, would like to in the future) so I just saw the original post show up on my feed and though it might be a good idea to crosspost it here where the rust devs actually are. If I knew and had experience with rust I would for sure work on contributing, but alas I dont. :(

Also, yes I agree a lot of the issues are in the UI

Don't know why you're getting downvoted. Everytime I see a video that actually loads i feel like this

I think what I'll go with is snipping them at the root base. Ive already got 10 pots, and a small balcony xD

Do you mind linking any guide on how to do that safely? Like, which stems to leave and which to cut, where to cut, etc...

Thanks

I'll definitely be running my regular email in parallel with my own server for a time. I for sure wont be deleting that straight away. At the very least its an experiment, and if it doesn't work out after 6 months to a year I can simply go back to my gmail, or look for different options.

Iirc theyre working on getting something like that set up, but I may be completely wrong and talking out of my rear. As of right now I dont think there is anything like that

Ill probably boot into the SD card from my laptop and set everything up like that before even putting it on the RPi

Thats something like what I'll be trying. I am on a linux laptop so I can do all that.

You dont need to make multiple accounts no.

The analogy people are using is email. If I have a gmail account and you have a yahoo account, we can still communicate between each other, but I cant use my gmail account to log in on yahoo's website. Lemmy works in a similar way. You make one account on your instance of choice (I see you chose beehaw.org) and then you can subscribe and otherwise interact with things and people on other instances (servers).

Here's how you can do that. Go to your server's search bar, and type in !dnd@lemmy.ml for example. Give it a few seconds and it should pop up as an option to click on it. Once that happens you can subscribe to it from your instance and interact with it normally.

I hope this helps, and if you have any other questions dont hesitate to ask me or anyone else. Most people are quite helpful :)

Im sure theres a way to do it on debian and it might even be the same as on raspbian, but I just dont know what user I would use or exactly how to set everything up. An option is to boot into the SD card from my laptop and set everything up there before plugging it into the Pi.

Im planning on putting debian on it, so I think its slightly different because e.g. theres no raspberry pi user
