Thanks. This might finally push me to switch.
(Note that I am not sure how much of this is depends on my client - Voyager.)
Ability to filter out posts made by people from the instances I have blocked, on communities that I did not block.
For example: feddit.org seems to have blocked all IPs from my country so I cannot see any posts made by them (I can only see their crossposts).
However, people on that instance can post to lemmy.world and while I can see the post text, any media fails to load. Sometimes, when I am not lazy, I use a VPN to see such posts in detail.
Same here. It started happening after SteamOS 3.7 update. People say Decky Recorder plugin from Decky Loader works well, but I didn't bother to try myself.
Love how Remedy's game styles is right up my alley. I really hope somewhat niche nature of these games does not deter their success.
Don't be afraid of using the commandline!
It might look like you are citing magical words to your computer at first. But, since Linux is extremely modular and has endless flavors, that's one thing tutorial makers can expect everyone to have in common.
Ubuntu (and Kubuntu, which is just Ubuntu with KDE Plasma desktop environment instead of Gnome) and Linux Mint (based on Ubuntu, but with a different desktop environment) are all derivatives of Debian. Almost anything intended for Debian will work on both.
You can install Proton VPN just be copying and pasting the commands in their official tutorial.
Updates are handled similar to Windows, while not being intrusive. You will be safe updating only when the OS notifies you about it.
Side note: since you'll be using a laptop, you'll most likely use display scaling. Unless it has a very high resolution display where using 2x scaling is okay, you will want to use a fractional scaling factor. Linux Mint uses an older display technology (for stability purposes) that does not do that very well. So, I recommend going forward with a distribution with KDE Plasma desktop. That one has the best fractional scaling experience so far and Kubuntu has it.
Are you using Gnome? (Workstation)
Also, though unrelated to your issue, DXVK_FRAME_RATE
only works with DXVK (DirectX 11). RDR2 will use VKD3D (DirectX 12) or Vulkan natively.
It really bothers me how Immich Android app is not usable without the server
Some devices provide a hardware level interface for it. It is the case for my ThinkPad T14s and the limiting persists even when changing operating systems.
Some other devices don't, and the limiting only works while the OS is running. That's how my previous laptop from ASUS was.
What would be the use case for each container getting its own VM?
Finally getting to play Hollow Knight: Silksong
I believe Podman uses a Fedora CoreOS VM. How does that compare?
