All that time and money invested in agent Krasnov is really paying off.

It's not that I feel any particular sympathy for Elon Musk. But I'm sure there are lots of people living with small dicks who don't experience any need to become crazy Nazis, and lots of crazy Nazis with sizeable penises. I just feel this whole "a man needs a big dick to be secure, and any insecure man has a small dick" thing is a somewhat offensive outlook.

The controversy began when restaurant owners Darwell and Nettie Mechelle Yeager posted a video promoting a limited-time discount for “real couples only”—explicitly excluding same-sex couples and trans people. “Cause we don’t do the trans or the lesbians or gays,” Nettie said in the now-deleted clip. The duo emphasized that only “couples who can produce a child” were eligible for the special.

Republicans are just so weird. Why on earth would you make "Can the people at this table conceive a child with one another?" the criterion for whether you'll sell someone a burger? Their psychological issues just leak into all aspects of their lives.

Would lying flat and wriggling your way to safety like a big wet human worm help? Or always traveling with a taller, damper friend?

This is just how he is. He did the same in his first term. If you took away anger and resentment, he wouldn't have a lot else left in his life.

botched gender affirmation surgery that left him with a mangled useless sex organ

I keep hearing this around here. Is there any actual reason to think it's true?

Even if the bit about the surgery is true, it's a very reductive explanation of issues which clearly aren't new in his life. He was brought up by far-right parents and his father apparently showed him no love. He has been poisonously insecure all his life, only now he has the power to inflict his psychological troubles on the world. Ever since he got financially lucky in the 1990s, he has had the money to buy influence and pay people to do what he wants, so he has never become equipped to deal with people as equals and has all kinds of issues and insecurities around power. He discovered early that, while he had trouble making friends, he could make an impression on people by being edgy and controversial, and has never managed to move beyond this into a more mature persona.

I feel like saying "it's all because of his wonky penis" trivializes how profoundly this man's life has messed him up, and how many complex factors are at work in his psyche. It also implicitly insults anyone else who doesn't have "normal" genitalia.

He smiles when he's being cruel to someone. He clearly enjoys that.

A leaked memo from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Research Service division revealed Sunday that the agency has banned some key language from its vocabulary, including the words “climate” and “vulnerable,” as well as the phrase “safe drinking water.”

Other baffling entries on the memo’s banned language list are “greenhouse gas emissions,” “methane emissions,” “sustainable construction,” “solar energy,” and “geothermal,” as well as “nuclear energy,” “diesel,” “affordable housing,” “prefabricated housing,” “runoff,” “microplastics,” “water pollution,” “soil pollution,” “groundwater pollution,” “sediment remediation,” “water collection,” “water treatment,” “rural water,” and “clean water,” among dozens of others.

So they're not allowed to talk about reality, or how to make anything better. And the fascists in charge must know this is what they're doing, but they don't care.

I keep thinking of how the Buddha recognized three poisons of the mind: greed, hatred and ignorance. Right-wing politics is pure poison.

Some of us live in areas where Liberals and Conservatives are neck and neck. A vote for anyone but Liberal is effectively a vote for Conservative under FPTP, and I'm not going to make it any easier for those traitors and bigots to ruin the country. Sure, Liberals are not what I want, but falling to fascism is a lot more not what I want. I very much want PR but where I live a vote for the parties that support it is just going to result in one more Conservative MP. I hate it, but we have seen in the US election what happens when people let fascists get a foot in the door.

ICE are not taking any care about what the tattoos are. There was a story of someone being sent to prison in El Salvador because they had an autism awareness tattoo, which looked a bit pride-y because it was rainbow colored. If they don't like the look of you they'll find an excuse. Nazis are like that.

Meanwhile the utterly incompetent Secretary of Defense has white nationalist tattoos all over him and that's just fine with them.

It's real Nazi science, this identification of criminals by skin colour, tattoos, and gestures. Perhaps they should study head shape too. Anyway, trigger their Nazi spidey sense and you'll be kidnapped and trafficked into permanent imprisonment and slavery in a foreign country where you have no legal rights. They don't have to prove you did anything. And half the US population will cheer because they can't imagine it will ever happen to them.

Summary

Jasmine Mooney, a 35-year-old Canadian woman, has been detained in U.S. immigration facilities since March 3 after attempting to enter with an incomplete Trade NAFTA work visa application.

She was initially held at San Ysidro border crossing before being transferred in chains to detention centers in San Diego and Arizona.

Her mother, Alexis Eagles, reports inhumane conditions including overcrowded concrete cells with constant lighting and inadequate facilities.

Business partner BJ McCaslin called the situation a "nightmare" while Global Affairs Canada confirmed they're aware but unable to intervene in U.S. immigration matters.

The FBI is moving to criminalize groups like Habitat for Humanity for receiving grants from the Environmental Protection Agency under the Biden administration.

Citibank revealed in a court filing Wednesday that it was told to freeze the groups’ bank accounts at the FBI’s request. The reason? The FBI alleges that the groups are involved in “possible criminal violations,” including “conspiracy to defraud the United States.”

“The FBI has told Citibank that recipients of EPA climate grants are being considered as potentially liable for fraud. That is, the Trump administration wants to criminalize work on climate science and impacts,” the @capitolhunters account wrote Wednesday on X. “An incoming administration not only cancels federal grants but declares recipients as criminals. All these grantees applied under government calls FOR ENVIRONMENTAL WORK, were reviewed and accepted. Trump wants to jail them.“

The Appalachian Community Capital Corporation, the Coalition for Green Capital, and the DC Green Bank are just some of the nonprofits being targeted.

“This is not fraud. This is targeted harassment,” @capitolhunters continued. “The idea of criminalizing community climate work wouldn’t have originated at the FBI—it likely comes from EPA director Lee Zeldin, who today cut all EPA’s environmental justice offices, which try to reduce pollution in poor and minority communities.”

Zeldin’s order eliminates 10 EPA regional offices as well as the headquarters in Washington, D.C.
