It would be so much easier if Maye, Williams or both were just these surefire prospects without significant weaknesses.
Whether we run with either of them or Fields next year, fans need to understand the QB position is going to be a work in progress and have growing pains.
It all depends on how Fields finishes, where our picks land, and how much of the staff and front office we retain.
I think we need to go back to the rule that during the season, new Posts need to have a link associated to be able to post.

Right, I think the biggest issue is that going into the season we were told “generational talent” and “can’t miss #1 pick” and then through watching the season he has just as many red flags as most 1st round QBs.
There's also a lot of dubious reporting about him which adds fuel to the fire. Stuff like him "not wanting to play for certain teams" or "wanting equity in the team he's drafted to"
The reporting stated that his dad was saying these things, which is neither a defense of the reporting itself or those reading it. Just because his dad is saying it doesn’t mean Caleb actually thinks it. But it is still concerning to have such a chaotic presence so close to who you would bet your franchises future on (The Ball family)
To me, the far bigger issues are what he has shown his own character to be while playing and that many of his playing weaknesses are the same as Fields.

CJ Stroud is exactly the archetype of QB Poles and Getsy apparently want and they missed on it. You shouldn’t get a 2nd chance to miss again
Mahomes was considered QB #3 and like the 10-15th overall prospect.
Jayden Daniels has played his way into being in the same conversation as Maye and Williams while also playing against significantly better competition.
This is only good for us no matter if we go the route of trading down or taking a QB
