No it isn’t. The point is that letting a QB sit for a year while having your current QB play acceptable football is not a bad idea

Yeah no shit. You’re talking about a situation that is impossible to replicate. That’s why I am using similar examples.
Hebert started game 1 of his rookie year
That isn’t what the Chargers intended. A freak accident made that happen.
If someone is ready to come in after a year or 8 games. That’s up to the team
Depends on what your definition of top is.
San Fran did this with Lance and Jimmy G. The Steelers did this with Pickett, the Chargers intended to do this with Herbert, the Dolphins did this with Tua.
What kind of Google rabbit hole did you go down to get here?
Absolutely not. Sam Howell has been sacked more than any other QB at an alarming rate.
Whether we role with Fields or bring in a rookie, I absolutely do not want to repeat the mistakes of not doing a better job protecting our QB
Gonna be really unpopular but if Arizona comes before where our first pick would be after a trade down I’m not trading down and I’m just taking MHJ and counting my winnings.
I’m finding myself more interested at getting a project QB at the 1/2 turn like Nix or Penix and letting them sit for a year or two while also picking up MHJ than drafting Williams or Maye and just sending them to the wolves.
Which is okay because a team that stacked only needs the QB to do what is asked of them to get wins (like Brock Purdy)
Isn’t that the point of the post? That whether the team won or not shouldn’t jade your view of individual performances positively or negatively?
This isn't how it works. You don't look at your second read when your first read is open.
The average fan equates not throwing to someone that is open to having not gone through your progressions.
I also think it’s funny how the main criticism most have of Fields is “he holds on to the ball” or “Just throw it Justin!” And when he does exactly that it is “well maybe he should have held it because a guy was a little more open, he’s not going through his progressions!” It’s like they don’t realize how hypocritical it sounds when in reality he made the right throw and read, it just didn’t work out.
Biggest difference in this game has been pressure. Packers are pressuring Goff constantly and the Packers are keeping pressure from Love.
