Similar for me, but the electrical engineering side of spacecraft
It took me a while to bounce back from a verbally abusive ex after I moved away from her. Getting yelled at to "go fucking kill yourself" stuck in my brain for a bit. My meds also further numbed me, but weaned off of those antidepressants eventually, with doctor approval.
It did get better for me, hope you can get out and start healing soon

Just an FYI, it's not the whole NASA budget being cut in about half, I keep seeing people say this. I think it was something more like 25% overall budget cut. The science missions got hit the heaviest and got a roughly 50% cut.
I grew up in the South (USA) and had to go to church every weekend. So you can imagine the types of conservative ideas I grew up with. A lot has changed for me, if we're talking politics or religion, I don't fit in with the rest of my immediate family.
I mean, not NO ONE. Plenty of people found it funny. They just suck and I don't like them
Lol that's what my brain thinks every time, it always takes me a second to get past the "why is everyone so mad at magic??" (Aside from obscene prices, but that's why I just print fake cards for casual play)
