Who cares? What matters is that he is free, and he was already found guilty regardless of the fact that what he did was right.

If people believe in this stupid law thing, they have to actually be willing to enforce it. You can't just keep giving into cynicism forever.

Then why don't we pressure Biden into pardoning him?

How was he not protected under whistleblower laws?

They don't actually teach kids to do anything.

The fallacy, among others, they're committing is called equivocation, by the way. They use a meaning of one word one minute and another the next, when it suits them to win the confrontation.

This is why debate and talking don't actually solve problems. People can and will just do stupid shit like this in bad faith to get you to acquiesce to them or stop challenging them.

People like that need ass-beatings until they're willing to conform to the dictionary's definitions of words and the rules of debate.

Who said anything about being dismissive? The solution isn't to allow them to dominate everyone by capitulating to them thinking we need their help or approval for anything. The answer is to simply move on without them and to build a new empire they're not allowed to control or participate in out of the old, and to let them rot in the ruins of the old.

The problem isn't scammers. The problem is evil religious types.

🤔 There are rules in this sub?

[–] pinkdrunkenelephants@lemmy.cafe -1 points 2 years ago (3 children)

Well, no one, because the problem isn't the scammer, the problem is the fact they're still religious.

Incivility is always just a transparent excuse to censor content someone in power doesn't like. It happens to me all the time on Lemmy, of all places. It's not a platform problem, it's just the human condition.

People need to keep their worldviews stable to keep the narratives of their lives straight, and toppling them over causes extreme psychological damage, so I actually don't blame them for doing that. It is just self-protection for them, even if it is harmful for everyone else.

Well, obviously. Men's issues will continue to be ignored as long as they are used as an emotional cudgel to deny women's validation for theirs, and that's a bitter pull the MRA douchebags need to swallow and fast. That is, if they actually care about men.

I thought statistically gay male marriages had low rates of domestic violence.
