How did you change the colors in cava? I tried modifying the config file but nothing changed.

I went about this in a pretty noob way. Synology + Jellyfin and I followed some online guides. Synology gives you a free DDNS hostname so you can access your NAS away from home. I don't have to VPN or anything. I have to warn that using this method will result in having slow transfer speeds if you're uploading large files. I use it to stream movies and shows so it seems to be fine for this purpose.

I actually was an Apple fan for a good number of years. I was like "the integration is so nice" and "all of my devices are in a good ecosystem and works great together". Then I got into privacy and security. Now I run GrapheneOS on my phone and Linux on my PC. The software I use is FOSS and my messengers are E2EE. Apple is good if you're a normie and has not realized the importance of privacy, not to say that Android is any better, because all Androids straight out of the box are littered with apps you can't delete, however, you can boot a new operating system like Graphene, Calyx, or LineageOS.

I'm doing my part. The life of one person creates so much waste and pollution.

I disagree with this "So no, it is not THE most secure messenger, but it is certainly the most secure of those requiring a phone number or e-mail address for registration". I believe it is probably the most secure messenger. It is not anonymous like Session but it is the messenger that does not know anything about you. There are court cases requesting Signal to give information up and all they are able to give is the last time the person connected to the servers.

Signal is easier to get into and with the upcoming implementation of usernames and hiding phone numbers I think I will convert all my friends on there. Aside from that, you could create your own Signal server if you want and unlike Matrix, it doesn't leak any metadata.

Slow at times but it's improving little by little with more contributors and development.

I bought a 2 bay ds220+. 2 x 4TB drives. Been happy with it so far. I got Jellyfin on here and use Synology Photos and Drive to back up stuff. I also use Adguard home, this has been amazing and has blocked many weird microsoft and amazon pings. Yes, it's proprietary but when I was building it, it seemed to be a decent choice and had lots of support. As I get more experience, I will probably build my own NAS.

Lol yeah. I learned my lessons from using Matrix.
