I finished the main story in Donkey Kong Bananza. That was wild and fun! Of course there's still tons of stuff to do and bananas to acquire. I think there might be something more post main story, I'll keep playing and see what happens, don't want to spoil anything. I played a few times but for a lot of hours in a row, so I'm taking a break before I come back to DK Bananza.

I had an online session playing the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection with my cousin. We finished TMNT the Arcade game and Turtles in Time (SNES) once in Normal Mode and once in Hard Mode. We also played but gave up when we game over'ed The Manhattan Project and ended on Hyperstone Heist but it was way too late and we had to end it there. Such fun timeless games!

I alse played a little bit of Mega Man 11, I'm thinking of going through the different Mega Man games chronologically on the Switch collections soon...

Several outlets are reporting based on this listing that the Nintendo Switch 2 version will include the full in the cart.

I'm definitely getting this one, how about you?

I don't know if a patch is planned, but I played it on my Switch 2 and there's a massive difference in performance. Particularly the stages where you drive the divine beasts. On Switch they drop down to like 15 fps or something, on Switch 2 it's super smooth and feels like a completely different game. Here's a video.

It'd be nice to get a patch for extra FPS and more enemies on screen for the Switch 2 though!

Yeah, I collect physical games too, and game-key cards (or the even scammier "code in a box" physical releases) are terrible. I really hope they don't sell well and publishers reconsider. The only games I have so far for Switch 2 are Mario Kart World and DK Bananza. I got Fast Fusion Neon because it was rather cheap. It also reminded me of playing the Wii U one which was also one of the first releases and digital only.

The only two third-party games I'm considering to get are Cyberpunk and Hyrule Warriors which I hope is also a proper physical release since it'll be published by Nintendo.

Personally the only thing I was really interested in was Hyrule Warriors, but we already knew about it. I was disappointed they didn't have a release date yet, which makes me think this'll be released in 2026.

I could be interested in Star Wars Outlaws if they weren't releasing it as a game-key card. Expecting Ubisoft to complain again after it doesn't sell that well on Switch 2 either (release the full game on a cartridge!).

Fortunately it looks like some third parties are seeing we don't really buy game cards. Sega for instance is releasing the Sonic racing game full on a cartridge. But yeah, I expect the same disappointment...

[–] picandocodigo@lemmy.world 7 points 3 days ago

I'm hoping this means you don't get so many red and blue shells hitting you when you're first and most of them a few meters away from the finish line on the last lap 😅

Potentially some XBox ports will be shown, maybe Doom Dark Ages! 🤞

A new Astérix game sounds exciting, but Slap 'em all was such a missed opportunity. They had the license, amazing art to go with the game, yet it turned out to be mediocre in gameplay at best.

Finally! I hope Nintendo brings back the Mario Artist series from the 64DD. It's such a good match for Switch and Switch 2, and it would be really fun.

I've had that thought about "growing out of" gaming several times. Even when I was younger, there were times when I would just play my old consoled a few times a year and thought about getting rid of it all. But then something new comes out that catches my eye and I will get right back into it, or I just rediscover some game.

I turned 40 recently and I've been enjoying gaming as much as ever. Sometimes life just gets in the way or we lose interest in gaming for a while. And it's also completely fine if you just grow out of it. But you can always come back to it if it's something you enjoy. Anyway, enough rambling, back to my cave...

I might go for 100% after I'm done with the main story. I'm sure now that I've been playing for longer, I would find way more stuff when going back to the initial layers. I've been having this happen a lot where I say "I'm just going to do one more thing" and then I do another, and another, and by the time I realize I've been playing for hours 😅
