Thanks! It's actually not that crazy, for 10k effective SPM I didn't even build a larger base and still had 10 assemblers for red science, 12 for green, etc. - that all went with Beacons and quality and science productivity + improvements on the side of producing intermediates by using EM plants to make chips and furnaces to make gears/steel/etc.

Actually that part I was able to get a over 20k science and now I am building a larger science production bit with 4x of everything that I had before. Certainly larger in scope and I often have stacked green belts of stuff, but still hardly a megabase.

I saw people who are really pushing it are going way over 1million SPM in space age :O... but I'm also still quite casual and don't think about stuff like UPS and also don't copy build blueprints, so my builds won't be optimal at all.

After my initial Space Age playthrough I started optimising for a while to hit 10k eSPM (i.e. after production bonuses / biolab usage reduction). Hit that and stopped playing for a while. Now returned to push to 100k eSPM with 10k+ raw SPM this time.

I am focusing on sciences needed for Mining productivity - those are really used a lot more consistently and the mining productivity is actually very helpful. Everything else I can mostly just stockpile for a while to still hit some high infinite sciences. I think I am hitting a stage there though where I'll need to put some more effort into some other sciences

UK can reach net zero 😊

provided the country takes steps forward 🫠

This "electrons VS molecules" is super confusing and I don't think it's helpful framing at all

I wish someone targeted Trump. And not with a policy

He plays through two songs at the start of the masterclass and it's pretty mindblowing - especially Kascade with the fast "selective picking". Figured people here might also appreciate the Masterclass itself.

Does the garlic butter actually smell of garlic? :O

Eschaton was a bit if a surprise for me... the song they had released first IMO is one of the weaker ones and didn't get me hooked. Glad I checked out the album anyways. It's amazing

Apell an Bundeskanzler Friedrich Merz

Error 404 es gibt keinen Bundeskanzler Friedrich Merz 😁

Highly anticipated album for me with Fountainhead on the guitar, who played and wrote large parts of Obscura's Akroasis and is a very unique player using fretless guitar. Also vocals by Morean (Alkaloid, Dark Fortress). I somehow missed that the album came out a week ago, from listening so far it is really cool and quite out there.

Jazz Metal rearrangement of Meshuggah's well known Bleed. They do some weird stuff with the tempo, which makes it pretty mind bending.

Just got into them about a week ago. Many people seem to consider Years Past Matter to be the definite album to start with, but Psychagogue grapped me more - I'd say it has a proggier vibe, in parts touching some Gorguts ish and in places even Progrock tones.

It's also one of their shorter releases, making it a bit more digestible

Got these recommended by the algorithm recently and really liked it. Rhythm side bit like earlier Meshuggah and the Jazz elements are really nice. Much prog such wow

Noticed Paul wasn't featured on the sub yet - his debut album Assimilate Regenerate is one of my all time favorite electric guitar albums. Mindblowing technique with tapping sweeping and picking, really interesting harmonically with that spacey sound (he is heavily using the Lyidan Dominant mode amongst others) and colorful arpeggios, and there is always also a strong melodic hook to each song. Hope people enjoy it.

Hello! I am currently trying to write a Wikipedia article for Retromorphosis as there isn't one yet. Problem is: I need published sources discussing the band that are somewhat unbiased (e.g. NOT the band/label web page).

I feel like Psalmus Mortis was one of the most highly anticipated albums in a while and was well received too. Also the band should have an article. Can you help me find some reviews from reputable sources? I am not much of a review reader myself.

Cheers

One of the craziest guitar videos I know. Christian Münzner especially is just out of this world
