Uhh, that sounds like he needed to see a doctor. That's not normal.

Well, looks like I missed my window for getting roof solar installed. Such a shame, I'm literally in the perfect place for it with zero trees blocking the sun except for late in the afternoon.

My hope (and it's a fucking long shot) is that all this blatant partisan gerrymandering will get to SCOTUS and they'll finally rule that redistricting for politics isn't legal.

Now do I imagine they'll limit their ruling only to Blue states somehow? Probably.

As a counter point, the US would have to re-vote for the 14th Amendment.

As a counter counter point also the 2nd.

You know, I think I like the established way of doing amendments - passes by Congress and a plurality of the states.

Why not Sly? I mean, the closed captioning budget would have to be huge to let people know what he's saying, but it could be funny.

Well, I see a few ones and a couple of zeros if that helps?

They should tap into the gamer market. HBO Min/Max - Optimize your viewing habits to minimize not fun while maximizing fun fun!

The official meshtastic app has a map view that shows all known nodes.

[–] pezhore 5 points 1 week ago

Yep, that can be normal. For my city, the local group has a private (but free to join) channel that's a bit more active.

Do a web search for meshtastic and your city and see if one pops up.

It is cool! The barrier to entry is relatively low. The only thing to really worry about is:

  1. What band/frequency is appropriate for you country.
  2. Are there others around to which you can connect?

If there's not a lot of people around it's not the end of the world. Nodes can connect over the Internet via MQTT servers. Yes, this defeats the purpose of having an offline/decentralized communication platform, but it is a good stop gap until more nodes are put up.

Here's a sample of what I can see in a somewhat large-ish Midwest City in the US (there's about 63 nodes I can reach by hopping through relays).

Man, it still hurts that he's gone. My first introduction to Bourdain was in No Reservations, and after not getting enough of his wit and love of all things culinary and people (because of too much time between seasons), I picked up Kitchen Confidential and was instantly hearing his voice in my head as I read.

Depression is a motherfucker.

The crab grass went crazy and got out of control. On the upside, we've got some wild flowers coming in!

Lawncare (infosec.pub)

Anyone know how to take care of a long-ignored lawn? We have crabgrass, raw patches of dirt, clover... you name it.

Start with grass seed/turf builder? Try and keep the plentiful crabgrass from germinating first? Quit and move to a new house?

I live in a one-story ranch with an unfinished basement and attic, in the middle of a project where I'll have access to a bare, un-drywalled wall. I know that eventually I'll want to run low voltage/Ethernet cable from the basement out to my attached garage, probably through the attic as the garage is only separated from the rest of the attic by Sheetrock.

I just don't know how much Ethernet cable I'll be wanting to run.

I think conduit would probably be the best for traversal/future proofing this, but I have no clue what kind to get.

Any suggestions? Things I should look out for?

It's my first house and I was hesitant to drill holes in it, but things came out okay.

Not only is the faceplate level, but it's also pretty much level with the existing electric outlet faceplate!

I felt productive and decided to clean literally everything in my coffee station, including doing a long over-due descale and group head flush.
