I think his comments about the retesting were poorly thought out but not egregious in my opinion.
I'm not talking about the madison situation, which is pretty bad if true and definitely makes him seem like a bad person if he knew about it.

I'm not really sure how this situation makes linus a "slimey piece of shit". Incompetent, maybe. Bad at management, sure. Linus probably had no hand in any part until the part where he was told they fucked up. I don't think there was malice in any part of the exchange, just incompetence.

All of the apps I've tried have problems. Most communities have a spam problem. None of the communities I'm interested in exist. I feel like there's almost a fundemental problem with the way that the fediverse works that makes it incompatible with this format, as almost all communities will be focused on generic instances as that's where people will create their accounts. I made my account on feddit.uk but I wouldn't make a community for something that wasn't UK focused, therefore the community doesn't get started.
We had this once with a guy working remotely who decided to move to Poland without telling anyone, which was not allowed in the terms of his contract nor did he have a visa to live in Poland. Only person I've ever heard of getting deported from Poland to the UK
I've always held the opinion that any celebrity or influencer or whatever is absolutely fucked up in some way. You just have to hope they're fucked in some way that is relatively harmless
