Downvotes with no comments. Shocker. Guess it's hard to back up your opinions, huh? I guess some people are totes fine with war criminals walking free?

I think you got downvoted for asking a very US focused politically charged question in a place not meant for those types of things. A lot of don't live in the US and don't care about your politics.

They understand what their voters want to hear: it's not us causing the problem in this country, it's the lazy benefit cheats

I'll believe it when I see it, we still can't get trains right

I don't think so. People still have a need for interaction with a real human and infinite generated content just feels hollow. Sure, it'll satisfy some people and maybe that's a good thing but I don't think it's going to replace or even barely supplement real social interaction

You're probably alright. Just make sure your stuff is up to date and if you notice any weird behaviour do a virus scan.

I make all my sucky code public because I've never seen a codebase that doesn't suck in some way

They wouldn't just release a plastic eating bacteria like some sort of bioweapon. I could see that being a problem if it got out by mistake but still, how would it spread? What would stop us just using chemicals to kill any that got out like we already do with bacteria?
