If you're exposing via cloudflare tunnels instead of pointing at your public IP then eveything other people have said covers it. If you are using your public IP then it's worth blocking non-cloudflare IPs from accessing the site directly

- client, platform, even platform version differences will lead to fragmentation and confusion
- the UX of community driven projects tends to be quite poor and doesn't tend to get much better with time
- the main benefit of the fediverse in this form isn't immediately obvious to the user and has immediate drawbacks for them
- the culture on lemmy is very anti mainstream
- instance owners will power trip and cause problems, be caught leaking or abusing private information or imposing rediculous rules
- links shared on other platforms can't be easily interacted with unless your account is on that specific instance

The article mentions search history, which of course they're going to continue to track because Google the search engine is not the same as Google Chrome the browser and the search engine has no business knowing or caring if you're in incognito mode or not
