One of the reasons I put RO here is that I actually forced myself to learn how to host a personal Ragnarok Online server because I had no money as a teen and I wanted to play with my friend. That involved learning a lot about computers and hosting that I wouldn't have otherwise bothered with.

I eventually became a computer engineer but it did take me a while because even though I was smart enough to do something like this I never fully believed I was intelligent enough to become an engineer so I spent half a decade working grocery store jobs and being a middle school teacher instead.

Bad actors are preying on impressionable young people through social media everywhere. This is a far more widespread issue than the internet pedophiles our parents were afraid of. Kids are getting radicalized by hostile states or even just manipulated via psyops by these countries to act in ways counter to the stability of their own countries.

Honestly, if I had a kid, I wouldn't let them touch social media until adulthood.

I think back in an earlier election Fetterman was considered a worker's rights pro-union progressive. He even was supported by Bernie I believe.

The other one I'm thinking of was Krysten Sinema who everyone thought was progressive but stabbed workers in the back.

I'm not sure Newsom has ever been considered progressive. He's always been a pretty centrist Democrat.

That's the point. He's not.

The TV star to irrelevant loser to rightwing darling pipeline is real.

They need some way to continue participating in the attention economy.

Why does this always happen with progressive "icons"? Or is it just more noticeable when it does?

Most of us are completely defederated from .ml or blocking it. So if someone else doesn't post that content in a non-blocked instance, a large segment of us will never see it.

I want nothing to do with .ml or the other tankie instances. If someone wants credit for posting things, they should do so from a non-.ml account to a non-.ml instance.

Even if they aren't a tankie themselves, what do they say about someone who isn't a Nazi that sits at a table full of Nazis in a bar full of Nazis and says nothing about them being Nazis?

I do have a gas stove but shouldn't they work on induction as well?

This kind of comment always reeks to me of "No True Scotsman". Communists and radicals are literally defined as being on the extreme left. People on Lemmy have no problem considering MAGAts rightwing (and they are) but I'm sure there are anti-Trump pure fiscal conservatives who claim that they aren't. But you don't see people defending the "right" in such a way on Lemmy.

Can't we just admit that the extreme left or extreme right are both similarly bad?

Yeah you don't season stainless steel. You have to heat it up enough to make use of the Leidenfrost effect if you want true non-stickability. It just depends on how you use it.

Cast iron is better in the way it gets it's non-stickability from its seasoning. Which is why I use it more often than my stainless steel if that's important in what I'm cooking.

Totally would love a carbon steel btw. I know they're like a blessed child between a cast iron and a stainless steel. Plz send me one for free por favor.

Cast iron and stainless steel also basically never wear out. My cast iron pan is over 100 years old.
