This is wrong and insulting. Si t'es un québecois (ou francophone), sors-toi ce mythe prescriptiviste de la tête.

Are you going to say that the Swiss dont speak "real" German? Brazilian Portuguese is a bastardized Portuguese? All the different variations of Spanish are not all Spanish?

AFAIK there is no linguistic process called bastardization. French in Québec, or in Canada, is French.

A word has multiple definitions.

In English (or French), milk can also describe a while liquid. There are six definitions for milk on Wiktionnary, and here is the second one:

(uncountable, by extension) A white (or whitish) liquid obtained from a vegetable source such as almonds, coconuts, oats, rice, or soy beans

There is also something called cement milk

A watery film of a dull white or gray color often appears on the surface. This white matter is the so-called cement milk.

I was walking under a decrepit elevated expressway and there were signs saying to be careful about cement milk dripping from the ceiling. I don't think there's any mammal involved in producing that type of milk.

The US skipped all the other dominoes and went straight to fascism.

It works and would be understood but it would also be odd. The unwritten rule is to round up to a multiple of 5.

Yeah, as in, if you take a quarter of an hour (15 minutes) from 10, it's 9:45.

They also use minus ten, minus twenty or even minus twenty-five.

Ten hours minus twenty-five is 9:35.

Ten hours minus twenty is 9:40.

Ten hours minus (a/the) quarter is 9:45.

Ten hours minus ten is 9:50.

I find it confusing and never got used to this system. It feels old fashioned and it's not even faster to say. But it's still pretty common while being informal.

Time is weird. Even in the same language some people will tell time differently.

In French my parents are used to fractions while I don't. So for me 9:45 is nine hours fourty five but for them it's ten hours minus the quarter.

Oh they have responses. Just shitty ones. Some will tell you that they are arming themselves, while others will tell you that it's the fault of those that didn't vote enough.

Best of luck to them at the next election. Meanwhile they can just buy more guns. They will be totally useful when the militarized fascist authorities will kidnap and deport them to El Salvador.

I do first level tech support for a living and help people with Windows and Microsoft products.

When I come home, I turn on my Linux PC and it just works. I don’t want to maintain a Windows system at home because it feels like work and I don’t want to work at home.

Soon Trump will issue an executive order making it illegal not to visit the US. Everyone in the world not visiting the US because of boycott will be sent to a Salvadoran gulag.

The Ministry of Plenty announced that the egg prices have decreased by 20% last week.

I'm sure it also has nothing to do with the fact that it's a woman.
