Downvoted, who the hell recommend Kali as the first desktop. It is not even intended for desktop usage.

Five and eleven eyes doesn't matter if the service is encrypted and open sourced. Also, did you know that Switzerland has no superior privacy laws comparing to Germany? It's all marketing bluff.

Btw if your password is similar like on the meme, consider using pass managers like KeepassXC, Bitwarden or 1Password /end of the laugh and learn segment/

Yes, it's good, however you need to be more specific with your query for DDG to return good result.

If you're interested in other privacy respecting search engines, there's Searxng and Kagi (paid).

I mean, it is possible that instance admins will be able to show advertising on ones instance, but you will be able to find dotation based, ad-free instance instead. Lemmy as a whole won't be monetized, only a particular instance. But it's only my guess

But they fixed the issue, and documented on why it happened and how it got fixed on their blog. Pretty transparent to me.

I honestly think that it doesn't matter - this PWA is so polished I'm forgetting that I'm not using a native app.
