So they could go to school? Have heathcare? Not starve? Most people in the military fall into two camps:

  1. Are a dumb shithead

  2. Are poor

Many just joined as poor kids (<21) because that was the best or only option for them.

It has increasing been made a crime in various states to various degrees. See the woman who was arrested in the Florida statehouse and the college bathroom ban in Ohio.

A 19-year old cis lesbian woman was beaten unconscious and robbed after she tried to use the women's restroom at a McDonald's in the US in c/aboringdystopia@lemmy.world

To add, cisgender is not that new of a word, it's been around since the 90s in English. Using the term "biological male/female" is an immidate red flag as it carries with it the insinuation that trans identities are not ligitimate; you could just say "not trans." Hence the heavy use by right wingers and bigots.

Yeah, it wouldn't be worth the effort to go after for a minimum wage gig, but for a 150k career? Definitely. Don't let "fear of HR" turn you into a door mat that tolerates a toxic work environment.
