Capitalism works when people can participate and be claolirvoyant and see a massive shift in the communications industry leading to massive monopolies that are able to abuse society!

It's only $100/month for you too to support a not starving dragon at Amazon HQ.

Well you should have worked harder to have been born and be an adult! Capitalism works when you're able to participate and not be in utero!

In North Carolina our department of transportation trucks have GEICO all over them. Idiocracy is a documentary.

lots of indie musicians on the fediverse. :-)

[–] ozoned@piefed.social 3 points 4 weeks ago (3 children)

Oh I absolutely do it for passion. LOVE talking with folks, especially about foss and open platforms. And definitely haven't made really any money. And any money goes to TubeFree or back to the Fediverse somehow. I've definitely spent way more than I've made. Lol

TY for linking. :-)

Asking for constructive criticism reasons, is there a reason you don't watch or listen? I've been told my mic quality bothers folk, so working on getting a new setup for that this week hopefully. :-D If you just don't listen because you're not a consumer of that kind of content or just not interested, totally understand. I just thriving on constructive criticism. :-)

lol wow I hope folks don't follow my ramblings. :-) But I do like Voyager and TY for suggesting!

[–] ozoned@piefed.social 11 points 4 weeks ago

lol I am here. I'm all in on the Fediverse. ;-) If there's a platform in the Fedi I'm not on, please let me know so I can learn about it! :-D

Thank you for your hard work! Let me know if you'd like to talk on Fireside Fedi with me sometime!

[–] ozoned@piefed.social 2 points 4 weeks ago

I'm sure they'd tell you that you're a free loader and you'd just waste it on booze and xboxes and things. So they'll spend the money to email you to tell you what a great job dictator trump is doi g instead.

[–] ozoned@piefed.social 4 points 4 weeks ago

Didn't even catch that. I mean my name is out there already as I do Fireside Fedi, but thank you for pointing it out. :-). Much appreciated.

To clarify, you're stating that the information from the Social Security Administration is false. Oh I know that. Thank you for the link though. The SSA has NO BUSINESS sending these kinds of emails is my point. I absolutely am against the shit Trump is doing. But this email is an abuse of my email and abuse of the tax payer money I put into a system running out of money.

Just putting this here for others to find in the future. Updated to Fedora 42 a few days ago. I don't use the machine, but my son does and he kept saying it was "crashing". Looked at random errors saying FFMPEG was crashing. Then Freetube caused the desktop to crash. Then steam. Caught this in the logs:

Jun 10 18:42:19 desktop kernel: [drm] scheduler comp_1.0.1 is not ready, skipping
Jun 10 18:42:19 desktop kernel: [drm] scheduler comp_1.0.4 is not ready, skipping
Jun 10 18:42:20 desktop kernel: [drm] scheduler comp_1.0.6 is not ready, skipping

Then saw this:

Jun 11 18:29:53 desktop kernel: amdgpu 0000:01:00.0: amdgpu: ring uvd timeout, signaled seq=77082, emitted seq=77085
Jun 11 18:29:53 desktop kernel: amdgpu 0000:01:00.0: amdgpu: Process information: process ffmpeg pid 576748 thread ffmpeg:cs0 pid 5767>
Jun 11 18:29:53 desktop kernel: amdgpu 0000:01:00.0: amdgpu: GPU reset begin!
Jun 11 18:29:53 desktop kernel: amdgpu 0000:01:00.0: amdgpu: BACO reset
Jun 11 18:29:54 desktop kernel: amdgpu 0000:01:00.0: amdgpu: GPU reset succeeded, trying to resume
Jun 11 18:29:54 desktop kernel: [drm] PCIE GART of 256M enabled (table at 0x000000F400900000).
Jun 11 18:29:54 desktop kernel: [drm] VRAM is lost due to GPU reset!

Tracked that amdgpu ring uvd timeout to: https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/AMDGPU "Flickering and white screens" section.

It recommended checking GPU clock speeds at: https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/

Then check what the current clock and memory clock were:

cat /sys/class/drm/card0/device/pp_dpm_sclk
cat /sys/class/drm/card0/device/pp_dpm_mclk

Sure enough the GPU was clocked to 1196Mhz, but the max clock was 1175Mkhz. I used LACT to change the clock speed and I'm back to a stable system.

Anyone have any cool projects for an old Nintendo Switch? The thing had stopped charging, I took the back off, looked at it and noped out, put the back on and it started charging again. But now the left side isn't charging the controller. My parents got my kids a new one, so we have this old Nintendo Switch now.

Anyone do any fun/silly/nerdy things with their old switch?

Good day everyone.

My wife was wondering if anyone recommends any kind of weighted stuffed animal. Her therapist said it could help ground herself, but she has no clue what is a good quality and a good weight.

Good day all. I now have a nonprofit called BT Free for Big Tech Free. It is a digital privacy rights, advocacy and consulting nonprofit. We're currently working on our 501(c)3.

Our first platform is Peertube, set up at TubeFree.org. We have registrations open, but no upload. If you'd like to upload, we're looking for quality content on our moderated instance. We can also attempt to help folks get their own set up if folks would prefer to do that. The goal is to start actively building out system to help people move from Big Tech.

This is still a major work in progress, but I'd love to hear folks thoughts on any creators that might be receptive to copying their content to Peertube or any platforms people would be interested in having to move your content to.

I'm investigating some kind of revenue sharing or something with creators. I also want to pass on funds to developers actively working on the Fediverse.

And I have a thought to take donations, but also maybe do like some and charge monthly amounts for more resources. Or do funding drives. Other things. If anyone has suggestions I'd love to hear them.

I might even run our own BT Free community here on Pieces.social if folks would be interested in following that.
