Opioids are dangerous, and loads of people "know a guy". If the government is to be believed, 10 million people had an opioid drug use disorder, compared with 29.5 million people with alcohol use disorder (in 2021).
As the saying goes, test your drugs, don't use alone, get nalaxone.
In 2020 178,307 people died from causes fully attributable to alcohol use (i.e., 100% alcohol-attributable causes, such as alcoholic liver disease and alcohol use disorder). During that same time period, only 93,000 died of opioid overdose. Remember kids, alcohol's bad for you.
