I had no idea this was old school. I thought this was a recent thing. Though, the book in @Strangle@lemmy.world's comment was published in 1995, so I guess I just hadn't noticed until now.

Discreet Launcher user here. I wanted something that would remove everything from the main screen and Discreet Launcher was it. I looks nice with Arcticons too.

Oh, my poor, poor wallet. I loved C:S and this just looks better in every way. Well, except Linux support, but hopefully Steam Play will be able to mitigate that.
