If there's anything that you should have learned from Snowden and Assange, it's that exposure is not enough. Websites like Open secrets have not made a dent in how dark money is tossed around.

Since you have prior experience, I'd recommend "Gramática básica del estudiante de español" (2005) published by difusion. Its entirely in spanish but it has the best visual and textual explanations of introductory spanish grammar (though it is the spanish spoken in spain dialect called castellano) in my opinion.

I'll check this out when I'm a bit more fluent. I can string together some really basic sentences at the moment, and that's about it.

Weirdly enough, I've been wanting Telesur to put out a podcast for awhile, and I'm just finding out about it now. Thanks for that, I suppose. I'll definitely check that book out as well.

Part of my end goal is to take up freelance translation as an side-income source, which is why I'm stressing written works as well as audio.

Is there a video or reading component to it at all? I've always had more success as a visual learner. If not what would you recommend as a supplement that includes that aspect?

What kinds of concepts were you forced to relearn?

[–] notthenameiwant@hexbear.net 8 points 1 year ago

I've noticed that too. They used to have little message boards after every question for discussion, but they took that away at some point. It was one of the best features that Duolingo had, and it feels kind of aimless without it. I might see about signing up for a local class, since those seem to be available where I live.

How does it meaningfully differ?

You're in for about 90 hours, so be ready for that.

He's still a Warren Democrat, but he does cover many foreign policy things from a decent angle. I remember him talking about the Ratlines awhile ago for example. Seeing him go to bat so hard for Imran Khan is pretty refreshing, when the Intercept's previous editor was attempting to take it in a "progressive Democrat" direction.

I have doubts about there being any.

Signal is not secure, nor is Tor. Read "Surveillance Valley". That being said, you probably won't be visited by the cops over a buying a gram of something online.

This is why the "tag user" function is so useful.

I'm also on Cloudresearch, but these sites are only getting me like $5 per day before I burn out. Are there better alternatives with maybe a little more effort or better pay?

Like, I see all these other shows making podcast empires (Chapo has one, Rev left has one, etc.) while the podcast of the website continues to only be featured in Intercepted once. You'd think there would be more crossover between them and other left shows considering how popular Gramscian critiques are.

Which isn't saying much

Valkyria Chronicles isn't doing it for me

You get it all in this game, white phosphorous, lynchings, gunning down protestors, etc. The only positive of this game is that you get to gun down American troops in a video game with no pretense of doing this in real life(In Minecraft).

The worst part about this game is that war crimes are framed as inevitable. I literally can't progress in the game without gunning down civilians or shooting white phosphorous at the troops™

Like, this game would be good if there was once an anti-war message sprinkled in there. The fact that this producer can spread war crime porn is disgusting.

This game was marketed as the tough choices horror show of games, and boy did it fuck that up.

As an addendum: the campaign is kind of fun to play
