if I remember correctly, you have to open app properties and grant it permission to display over other apps.

The question is why does that translate into disengagement instead of left-wing alternatives gaining support

because people aren't ready for the fully automated luxury gay space communism, and they want better things for themselves, and not for everyone else around them.

Adblock is a bit iffy on android browsers in my opinion

uBlock Origin works as well on Firefox on Android as it does on desktop, in my experience.

LBRY is a separate service, Newpipe and Freetube are third party apps, and Invidious is an alternative frontend. kinda confusing to put them all together

Last week, I turned on my PC, installed a Windows update, and rebooted to find Microsoft Edge automatically open with the Chrome tabs I was working on before the update. I don’t use Microsoft Edge regularly, and I have Google Chrome set as my default browser. Well, here we go again. Apex Legends just launched the Ignite Update, and with it sadly it seems they messed up Easy Anti-Cheat for Steam Deck/Linux.

This week, the European Parliament’s negotiators reached a broad majority agreement on a common position concerning the controversial EU chat control bill. The Commission’s bill proposes bulk scanning and reporting of private messages for allegedly suspicious content by using error-prone algorithms, including „artificial intelligence“. But the European Parliament’s position removes indiscriminate chat control and allows only for a targeted surveillance of specific individuals and groups reasonably suspicious of being linked to child sexual abuse material, with a judicial warrant. End-to-end encrypted messengers are exempted. Instead, internet services will have to design their services more securely and thus effectively prevent the sexual exploitation of children.
