What he's talking about is probably that turning off WiFi via quick settings or whatever it's called doesn't actually turn off WiFi, you still have to proceed all the way to the settings app.

What I meant was that "they" can not just simply erase "us" from existence once we stop providing them enough value, I believe in a revolution of some kind if such practices were to be tried.
Though I do not believe it would be rational nor beneficial for the elites at the first place, I was just pointing out that there is little chance of that happening.
There are more of "us" than "them".
They've been doing it for years, but in slightly different ways. Chances are you remember one of their numerous pathetic attempts to prevent switching from their spyware.
As much as I hate to admit, it is not quite ready for me yet. Don't get me wrong, a massive amount of work has been done over the past two years, but a lot of basic functionality is still lacking. In fact, you may find it ready for daily usage yourself, given that you are not planning on using unsupported features.
DP Alt mode is not supported yet, therefore any external monitor is basically out of reach while using Linux. Built-in speakers, microphone, and camera do not work. Video drivers only cover OpenGL versions up to 3.1, which is HUGE if you think about it, but might still not be enough for someone coming from MacOS. Battery life is not ideal, though it is still better than most of Windows laptops.
Look through the Feature Support list to get the whole picture.
What's also worth noting is that most of those caveats do not apply to Mac mini, as HDMI out is already supported and, obviously, it doesn't have any peripherals built-in.

That may be true, I used to be an iPhone Xs user before my Pixel 7, and it used to drive me crazy seeing blue WiFi icon turning white, as opposed to turning the module off completely in the settings, when the icon becomes transparent.
It is nitpicking though, for sure. I have tons of other, more significant complaints about iOS, I was just clarifying what it may have been that the other person was complaining about.
Edit: Moreover, until you deliberately tell your phone to NOT automatically turn on WiFi after an hour or two, it will decide for itself that the time has come and it can drain your battery now.
