Anyway this makes having guests difficult so I am wondering if any of you fine people have suggestions for humane temporary deterrents?

Just stop inviting people over. If they insist on visiting, feed them to your spiders. If you want it to be humane, warn them first and if they still want to come over that is on them, they knew they would be spider food.

I have been trying to forget about the Hulkster for years.

Say I just got gifted/loan-ered an old laptop with Windows on it, how do I install Linux on it and also make sure its not still tied to the previous owner and transmitting my stuff to them? in c/asklemmy@lemmy.world

Installing Linux mint is really painless. There is also !linux4noobs@programming.dev where you will get a lot better help than here (not saying the help here is necessarily bad, but the members there are great)

Splendor. If taken out of the box, it can be stored in a much smaller box. It is very easy to learn and a lot of fun for 2-4 players.

With the latest updates to the popular Palworld, Valve have now bumped it up to Steam Deck Verified and SteamOS Compatible.

The rating has been a bit up and down with it going Unsupported in January, and then back to Playable a day later.

NonSteamLaunchers is a tool you can use on Linux / SteamOS to automatically set up various third-party stores. A new release brings new tricks.

The app works with Epic Games, GOG, EA, Amazon, Battle.net and lots of others. It uses GE-Proton to install the Windows version of all the apps you pick and then adds it to Steam for you to easily launch (useful for SteamOS / Steam Deck).

The Kommo-o appearing during this event has Fighting as its Tera Type. Be prepared—this Pokémon is a formidable foe, and it’s got the Mightiest Mark to prove it! Work together with your friends to topple this powerful Tera Pokémon!

During the latter half of this event—from Friday, July 18, 2025, at 00:00 UTC to Sunday, July 20, 2025, at 23:59 UTC—Blissey will be appearing more frequently in 5-star Tera Raid Battles. These Blissey will have various Tera Types, so prepare wisely before challenging them! Defeating Blissey will yield some delightful rewards, such as various Tera Shards and bonus Exp. Candies.
