Your parents are billionaire oligarchs who rely on the status quo for cheap labor by forcing ridiculous work schedules, ever increasing rents, and record profits for basic necessities?

I’ve never owned one, but they have a great look.

I stick to Subarus and VWs (and one both) since they have similar parts, and repairs are usually relatively easy across models.

That’s a Ford Fairlaine Skyliner if anyone wants more details.

My uncle had a working model car of this when I was a kid. Pretty cool to see it in motion.

Yeah I think it became the basis for the Opel GT, and obviously similar the the C3 Corvettes from the early 70s.

I had an 87 EX Accord and a 90 Coupe.

The 87 was so much more fun (the pop up headlights definitely helped). I miss that car, especially the shifter, best shifting manual I’ve ever driven.

Some how I missed SCROTUS until now. Much better name for (most of) them.

I’ll be surprised if TVs get much larger. We’re already have Modular wall displays if you want a theater at home, though most still use projectors in that situation.

The problem is that most homes don’t have a big enough room for a TV wider than 60 inches or so.

There is a time and a place for David Byrne and the Talking Heads, but this isn’t it.

Used to see that as a kid there (like 40 years ago), I’m glad they still have ‘em!

I was at my moms house making my son a sandwich and she admonished me for using a knife in the jam. At first I thought she was worried about peanut allergies (non of our family have a that allergy), but then she claims that knives break up the pectin in jam and only spoons can scoop it without ruining it.

I use a knife in ours almost every day and have never had (good) jam go soupy.

I assume it’s just another bullish “tip” from social media.

Diesel/kerosene doesn’t evaporate like gasoline though, lots of mechanics use it to soak Rusty stuff and get parts unseized.

Modern has also attacks rubber with its high ethanol content, but its a slower process.

Gasoline works great for cleaning, but you have to immediately coat it in something or you get flash rust again. Diesel is slower, but less volatile, and better near rubber and plastics.

Btw, I restore old cars and have used both to clean things, though the cancerous benzine fumes from gasoline aren’t worth it compared to other solvents for me. Denatured alcohol<mineral spirits<naphtha<acetone is my order of escalation when a mess is stubborn.
