To add, would selling pardons not be covered under the emoluments clause, at the very least?

Even though it wasn’t even remotely enforced.

I’m guessing you weren’t alive or old enough to remember when it happened in 1995-6?

While it will hurt the party in charge (R’s in congress), it can also fuck up a bunch of things; Social security, health department, education department, the EPA, FDA and USDA (I’m assuming you eat food here in the US).

Some effects of the shutdowns included the government, tourism, and airline industry losing millions of dollars in revenue during this period, with disruptions made towards the processing of passports and visas, and work on medical research and toxic waste cleanup being halted. Wikipedia

It can’t be helpful for federal trials of insurrectionists either.

Massive stroke on stage would work then. Let him be a veggie while watching election night TV.

We haven’t had very many storms in New England this winter. The last big storms in a row, were back in 2013-15 and they were still late February storms. Our first plowable storm was Sunday, and we’re scheduled for 2-3 inches of rain tonight.

I used to work in the ski industry, but it was already a low paying job, when the season starts 1+ months later and ends sooner, it’s barely worth the gas money to get there.

TLDR: incumbents (largely conservatives, but some democrats as well) oppose rank choice voting and appear to be trying to either block it where it’s on the ballot, or reverse it if it’s already passed.

Oregon appears to be in ok shape to pass and implement it, Nevada sounds like a shit show.

Or the Simpson movie. With his favorite fiction inspirational character, Spider Pig.

I think it’s supposed to read “So does Ameridome temperature IQ”

Which is a riff on room-temperature IQ (something in the 60-70s, 100 IQ being the supposed average).

The butter was actually a non-spray, non-stock cooking stick.

Put a hotdog on the end, and what you have is actually a non-spray cooking stick.

Not as many things as untreated bipolar disorder would explain.

Convict or I’ll lose whatever faith I have left in this shithole of a country.

The munitions weren’t even the big part of the linked story to me.

Millions of gallons of DDT were apparently dumped there as well, and not even in barrels, just dumped from tanker barges!

You know, the chemical that fucks the food chain all the way up to the bald eagle and condor?
