Sigh More Jeep stories. Despite regular oil changes and maintenance my Jeep would occasionally just fail to build oil pressure all together when starting. Shutting down and starting again always fixed it, never had any crud in the oil pan, happened 3 or 4 times a year for 12 years. New owner says it still does it.

Drove the same Jeep for 13 years, the check engine light was on for at least 10. Oxygen sensors are bullshit.

From what I remember the leading cause of death at the Grand Canyon is still airplane crash due to several accidents before the 80's.

Overall, 46% of Americans say human activity is the primary reason why the Earth is warming. By contrast, 26% say warming is mostly caused by natural patterns in the environment and another 14% do not believe there’s evidence the Earth is warming at all.

Education vs indoctrination. The 46% are willing to sacrifice some quality of life to help solve the problem, the 14% are ready to pick up a gun to maintain theirs.

Docker kinda does it by being like an app store but for servers. It's not very flexible but everyone using a particular image gets the same experience.

Ubuntu has a bigger market share in the support department. Makes it easier to find advice that applies specifically to your setup.

I don't care if I have to see unobtrusive ads (not overlays, not popups, not unskippable videos) ads help keep many web services free, sometimes I even find it helpful when ads are relevant to my recent searches or the page I am looking at. But having companies build up profiles about me and then share that between themselves is bullshit, that kind of behavior would be treated as stalking if done by an individual, why is it ok for a business?

Customizing all-in-one distros is a shitty uphill battle that isn't worth the trouble, so I get how Arch is worth the work there. But recommending a kit car when people are asking for a commuter just bugs me.

Yeah, that's pretty much it. I don't want to use a kit/show car for commuting.

As a bearded man who built a cannon, has sailed on a large body of water and channels a torrent of bits across his home network. Yar!

Arch, I want to get some work done not save 3 extra CPU cycles on boot.
