Oh god, that's a rabbit hole you might not want to go down. I'm in Canada and I know people who will have 1 or 2 beers a week but most are in the range 2-4 a day. I'm an electrician so things skew towards the 1500 bottles/yr end of the spectrum.
Canada is right behind the USA in this respect. Our politicians are transparently corrupt, our health care is only good when compared to the US and we have an assbackwards vocal right who would vote Trump if only they were given the chance.
Whenever humans aglomerate, non productive humans require handouts to live. If they do not receive then they die. If they don’t want to die, they will steal.
Yeah, we know, politicians.
I had bad luck and ended up with a Pixel 2 that was carrier unlocked, appeared to have an unlocked bootloader but was some special Verizon version that did not allow flashing. Fuck you, Verizon.
I wish the "Dark Web" hadn't turned into shit show, Just looking into it now gets you onto some fuckin watch list but it would have been a perfectly viable place to set up a proper censorship-free web. It also takes care of the user-quality issue by being slightly harder to use than a button that says "INSTALL APP NOW!"
Damnit, I'm boring af. Machines are named by their model for laptops/consumer devices and buy their CPU for home built stuff.
Except for Crimson-Binome.local 🏴☠️
I am quite preachy about it and am universally met with "but why does it matter?" The future is gonna suck.
I've found my people!
Docker is awesome for real production environments but trains home users to just copy/paste/enter random shit from the internet.
I bet you’re the type to follow the docker install instructions*, arent you?
Thank you, I think the Cult of Docker does more harm than good for the selfhosting community in the long run as it encourages copy/paste admins. Manually installing services in LXC gives you all the advantages of Docker plus the full control of a VM or bare metal install.
SELFHOST! No matter how good the deal is, no matter how free or expensive it is, you can not trust a cloud service to last as long as you need it.
