As long as these fuckers don't get punished in the way it really hurts their bottom line, they're going to keep pulling the same shit.

I used an IPS laptop too. However, laptops go a lot lower on minimum brightness compared to monitors for whatever reason. Shouldn't matter to you since you always use it in a bright room. IPS should be good to you.

Do you use the monitor primarily at night, or day? Do you plan on watching movies at night? Do you already use an ips monitor currently? When I was buying my first monitor (after using gaming laptops for a long time), and I noticed that the IPS monitors are all too bright, and have very bad blacks/contrast ratio for movies/dark content at night. I tried out a variety of monitors, and ended up with an LG VA monitor and have been happy with that. I use my pc mostly at night, and this monitor is pretty good for that. If you want the best, you could go for oled monitors, but they're considerable more expensive.

What is your programming language? Build something for yourself, you'll feel good. May be some todo list script, may be some youtube new video notification script, you get the idea. The fun in programming is making the machine do what you want, and it helps if you actually want it.

Hurt my foot last Sunday on a fall hike, and missed any and all subsequent fall visits since then. My wife and daughter were looking forward to the next ones, so that sucks.

Nature seems extremely chaotic and extremely calculating at the same time.

This is extremely sad for the daughter. Duck people like this. Belong in an institution in a straight jacket.
