In you use case I would look at Jellyfin. One of Plex's main features is sharing across the web

I am playing through Rise of Tomb Raider in 4K and having a similar experience. I think the cut scenes are in 1080p.
let me know if you need some off site storage of you digital backups...
I remember loving the show Good Guys, Bad Guys when I was a teenager. Occasionally look for it on the torrents but never found it.
Torrents are all well and good until you want an album from more than a couple of years ago.
My current workflow. Find a band that I like. Add it to lidarr. Wait 10min. All of their albums are in Plex and can be streamed from anywhere in the world.
Not sure if you mean find recommendations of new stuff to listen to, or the download source? Recommendations from Last.fm Download source is currently Deezer. Lidarr+ scripts has a bit of a learning curve https://github.com/RandomNinjaAtk/arr-scripts
Spotify was OK back when I used it after Google Music died. YouTube Music's algorithm sucked so I used Spotify for about a year. Then I installed Plex for movies and TV but also found it was also great at streaming music. PlexAmp gives me access to a good suggestion algorithm. I made the decision to give them my $$ instead. Now with lidarr+scripts I can have any music I want with almost zero effort. Plus, as the OP said, I get the fun little side hobby of music curation.
It is the only platform where I can follow specific people without a algorithm getting in the way. They all need to choose a new one to move to.
I still watch TV through a Laptop running Windows Media Centre. MS have given up on trying to kill it. The Microsoft remote has seen better days but is still functioning.
It would probably need a firing mechanism like airbags; that creates a vacuum in the air shocks. That would suck it down but may need to be reloaded by repair shop.
It is the only social media I can still view only those I follow and in chronological order. I don't like the algorithms. I re-followed Elon for about 12 hours the other day. Then I remembered why I unfollowed.
I can't see why not, if you know how to set it up. I am sure there are existing docker containers to help you out. But I am a Plex guy, not a Jellyfin expert.
