Software and games.
No matter some people claims, there are always software/games that simply won't run on Linux or no alternative available.
At least in most part of the world, Apple is actually the rare choice.
- Generic PC (Windows/Linux) is cheaper
- Less American stuff on your PC, your PC manufacturer can be local.
Japan also did that, but it mostly just for the uniqueness of the robot, not for replacing workforce.
Fediverse is still mostly Westerner.
While on Facebook, there are a ton of community from SEA, East Asia, Africa, Middle East, and so on.
Also, Facebook Lite makes the poorest people in my country to be able to access social media without using too many internet quota.
The variation of groups is far beyond any social media, even Reddit or any other community site. You can get thousands of variation of Minecraft groups that exactly suits your community needs. Or maybe just a city chicken fried seller community.
"calls another YouTube channel bitch lasagna" that was years ago right? These days he seems more calm and almost no toxicity whatsoever other than rarely saying shit, fuck, or generic swear word.
He got backlash from his own fans from all edgy and toxic jokes. I remember some of his Indian fans are angry for his PewDiePie vs T-series stuff (T-series: Indian music company).
I think around 2019, he apologized and recognized all the edginess he did, and promised to do better.
For the last five years, all of his content are basically wholesome family stuff or creative activities. Even his recent art journey video are widely shared among young art communities that's not even his fans.

From what I read, it was originally higher (82%), but went down because SteamOS has X11 as its default.
You can read more about KDE X11 plan on here: https://pointieststick.com/2025/06/21/about-plasmas-x11-session/
Quoted from the blog: "Current status: Plasma’s X11 session continues to be maintained.
Specifically, that means:
- We’ll make sure Plasma continues to compile and deploy on X11.
- Bug reports about the Plasma X11 session being horribly broken (for example, you can’t log in) will be fixed.
- Very bad X11-specific regressions will probably be fixed eventually.
- Less-bad X11-specific bugs will probably not be fixed unless someone pays for it.
- X11-specific features will definitely not be implemented unless someone pays for it. "
As much as it's true, not all company are doing this. There are plenty of good East Asian company with good work life balance, especially newer company that already recognize the issue.
Is there any application that implement them?
