Sexual harassment allegations are not "drama". And anyways, the comparison is in the way they apologize and not the damage they have done.

How human of them.

That makes way more sense!

Maybe a take on Google/Alphabet? He might think it gets (purposely) drowned in the results so he won't be able to find it if he doesn't save it? No idea though..

Especially because Steve said "auctioned" and not "sold". Nice strawman, same as his "bad journalism" take. It only leads the discussion away from the allegations.

I think it's their counter-argument to:

"If earth is really flat, why do ships disappear behind the oceans horizon?"

"Water mountains"

Interesting! I tried it a bit more:

  • I had "Undetermined", "Deutsch" and "English" selected in my profile.
  • I was able to set the comment to "Undetermined", but then still not able to set it to "Deutsch" (back to "English", worked though)
  • Changing the word "homie" didn't make a difference
  • Other comments set to "Undetermined" were able to switch to "Deutsch"
  • Other comments set to "English" (that were actually written in english) were able to switch to "Deutsch"

Seems like it's a problem with this comment in particular, but I can't figure out why!

Edit: I found another comment set to "Deutsch", written in german, that can't be changed no matter what.

I'm trying but the save button just loops endlessly..

What difference does it make? Aren't you able to see the comment?

It has of course nothing to do with the enormous amount of money they rake through their app store by squeezing both the developers and the users.

Why would they try to force people to only use the store by implementing more and more security features along the way!?

It's a mystery!

Infos gibt's im Artikel, die versprochenen Tips sehe ich allerdings auch nicht.

I agree with your points and like the idea of more specialized instances and also country related instances. I think it's solvable if the different admins work together.

Lemmy.world doesn't have to go private, they could just not accept more users and communities for a while. It wouldn't change much since everyone will still be able to post and comment on Lemmy.world from all instances. New users would just have to choose a different instance that's all.

For me that's the whole point, I don't see any benefit of a big instance, the Lemmyverse doesn't need one.
