Hi there, I just got terminated from my job today and had to return my company iPhone 12 (which was on AT&T) on the spot. I want to buy a personal iPhone now with the same phone number. I already have a personal phone (Android) on a Verizon line and I'm not replacing it, I just want an iPhone in addition. And as of now, I DON'T want to connect it to my carrier or data plan. I just want to use WiFi.
- What is the best way to buy a new iPhone and keep my company's number without my old phone?
1a. Or if I have to get a new number, can I still transfer my old messages over remotely?

And lastly, what's the best platform to buy on? I was thinking of going with Best Buy, but I saw on another sub people recommending to buy from Apple directly.
For reference, I have a personal Apple account I made years ago that I connected to my work iPhone. And I have only used Android personally, so this is my first time ever buying an iPhone personally.
