Free speech as a concept isn't just limited to the government, that's a limitation of the First Amendment.

Free Speech ≠ First Amendment

You're talking like the First Amendment is the definition of Free Speech, and it's not. I don't know New York law, and I'm not an American, so I can't say if this firing breaks any free speech laws, but it definitely contravenes the concept of free speech.

Did we? I know I'm being pedantic, but I thought we just sold them LAVs. The Saudis armed the vehicles themselves.

I assume they were drawing the view with hatches up. If the scenario calls for hatches to be closed, there are greater concerns for a pedestrian than getting run over!

That feels a bit different to me because Japan refuses basically all immigration and their population is declining, while Canada is accepting record numbers of immigrants and is by far the fastest growing population in the G7.

We're not talking about one person, but the macro-economic trends in general. Many individuals will not follow the trend, as it represents the economy as a whole.

I think it'd be helpful to understand why you want a lightweight distro. I'm running Linux Mint (Cinnamon) on a x201 (~13 years old) and am happy with it's performance. I doubt you're going to have any issues with any distro with your laptop (as others have pointed out, mainstream Thinkpads are well supported by Linux).

I know I have friends who run beasts of machines but refuse to "waste" resources on niceties like animations and whatnot. If you're into that, I assume you want to optimize and tinker, that's different that lightweight.

I agree this seems low, but this is just a settlement with the city. Hopefully they'll get more from other organizations.

Please tell us more. Make? Model? Any modifications? Your history with the car?

I'm not too familiar with historic international law, but most of the ones in modern use are only decades old. So, while the invasion of Hawaii may be immoral and may have broken international norms, I'm not sure if it's consider to have broken "International Law".
