There was an epidemic of CIA assets all around the world getting murdered, like dozens of them, right after he had (it later emerged) asked for a bunch of classified intelligence about the identities of foreign assets.

Dude you’ve been doing this for 2 years and the front line is still a 30 minute drive from the border.

Who can say what might happen if Trump wins, but while a stalemate followed by a peace agreement where Ukraine still loses Crimea and etc seems possible, a complete military victory over all of Ukraine seems like pure fantasy. Y’all can prepare the Russian people for whatever you want, but if you can’t take the land, it’s not gonna help.

Honestly? If you’re still on Twitter at this point, that’s on you.

He’s made them a requirement for federal cops, which are the ones under his control, and also stopped some policies (transferring military equipment to local police) that were actively a bad thing for local departments.

His budgets included, along with increased funding, a good amount of funding for programs for non-police intervention and other things the ACLU thought were good ideas. I can’t find the ACLU page that explains their whole mixed review - because it also includes their criticism for the stuff you’re talking about - but even being a hawk for the police in general, he’s been doing some amount of lefty stuff as well, not just talking about it.

This is a strange article

Most people’s understanding of “inflation” is “how much am I paying for my stuff,” not the rate of increase (economic definition.) Krugman’s actually ahead of the curve, because he points out that when you say “inflation is down,” people are likely to say “no it isn’t,” because they’re still paying higher prices for stuff because of the previous inflation. He even cottons on to the idea that people feel like they earned their increases in wages, but inflation “happened to” them, so the pain of the second isn’t offset by the first.

But then he goes off into crazy town trying to say that the Republicans were making some kind of economic argument when they said they want inflation to go back down (by the “how much am I paying” metric). My guy: They are not talking metrics. They are not talking policies. Stop taking them seriously. They are saying Trump will make eggs cheap again when he will not, and when he doesn’t, they will say “lol Dems fault” and none of the followers will care.

Stop taking them at their word about things and taking their nonsense as economic arguments.

You’re not supposed to be shitting on Kamala until she gets chosen

If you start preemptively criticizing her now, it might just produce an overall sense of hopelessness and chaos with no way out

Oh… I see.

Seriously, what did the other 21% say?

“Michelle Obama!”

“Trump!”

“Jon Stewart!”

Just kidding, that last one would be genuinely a good idea, which is why you don’t hear it in these weird slanted editorials

I’ve debunked a certain amount of partisan bullshit on Lemmy

It’s not a trillion dollars but it also seems worthwhile to some extent

… said Action Carting CEO Ron Bergamini. … “you have to find the balance between efficiency and safety, and that’s a struggle we work on every day. But you cannot turn around and say, ‘Hey just take your time, go as long as you want.’”

Why the fuck not

We have enough food at this point. We can afford to enjoy life. Even the garbage workers. A lot of countries do this; the normal life is okay, not the 200% speed life so your boss can buy an extra house and you retire at 50 on disability with back problems.

Income inequality a trillion dollars on climate change stronger NLRB working class wages outpacing inflation, idk, what the fuck have YOU done to improve anything; definitely quite a lot less than that
