I should fuckin well hope so

Man, don’t get complacent

Anything could happen. 2 states could get their votes overruled by the Republican state legislatures. People could see that it’s close and start attacking poll workers. The machines could cheat. Fuckin anything could happen. The time when the rat is cornered is 1,000% the most dangerous time.

Vote. Anything could happen. Treat it like a fuckin emergency, because it is.

While at the same time pursuing policies and choices that will actually stand some chance of benefiting the Palestinian people -- among them, being vocal with congress, doing direct demonstrations, doing things like the "uncommitted" vote to make it clear to those in power that the minority that wants decent treatment for the Palestinians is also not a trivial constituency, oh and also:

MAKE SURE HARRIS WINS IN NOVEMBER SO THAT THE IDF DOESN'T START GETTING UNEQUIVOCAL US SUPPORT AND AMP UP THEIR WAR CRIMES TENFOLD

The others are optional; the last one is critical.

It was profane, but that wasn’t the part that made it a big deal. She told the police to shoot the black teenagers, and when they said no we are definitely not doing that, she told them she had their back as far as protecting them if they did, and then after that said fine she would do it herself then.

Writing the headline without that in mind, I think, is at least a little misleading.

a black bag over the head

yes keep seeing this

If you weren’t lying, it would be a very good idea to tell the news about this

But since this is all an elaborate fantasy world I guess that is impossible. IDK how you managed to arrive at a type of dystopian terror that ISN’T happening, when there are so many that are real you could have chosen from among, but congratulations or something I guess

I have driven across the US recently, yes.

Have you seen these double lines of jacked up troopers? Did you take a picture? How do you know this to be true?

What in FUCK are you talking about

I can personally guarantee there are no lines of police on both sides of the I-40 crossing looking for pregnant women

That’s not how a Terry stop works

Whose belongings got thrown in the mud and why didn’t they talk to the news, the news loves stories like that

Who the fuck got out on parole? For what charge? Driving while driving? Past a wall of police jacked up on personal belief?

There is plenty that is concerning both in policing and in abortion laws but you are making up literal gibberish

I was imagining things, as is tradition

"unauthorized"

[–] mozz@mbin.grits.dev 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Hm, that wasn't what I was talking about wanting to see. To me, what would be good to see would be a breakdown of, starting from the total number of shootings or use-of-force incidents in any given year:

  • How many the agency didn't release bodycam footage for
  • How many we got the bodycam footage and it looked justified
  • ... it looked debatable
  • ... it looked unjustified

That's a fuck of a lot of work, which is presumably why we don't see it. But that to me would be a good way to analyze whether things are actually working.

This and this are probably the best overviews I could find about what has and hasn't changed. It's a little frustrating though -- it's hard to find something substantial about "okay yes but what has the result been."

And, the things I could find about the result sometimes used very weird metrics (like lumping together all police shootings without making any effort to distinguish justified shootings from unjustified or attempting to determine what percentage were unjustified in order to point to whether that number is going down or not).
