- Mr. Ballen - Spooky stories, true crime, weird dark stuff, also sometimes some of the funniest ad reads on YouTube
- 74 Gear - Aviation stories, accidents, pilot breakdowns / critiques of random aviation videos from social media
- Mentour Pilot - Aviation accident breakdowns, somewhat more professional
- Summoning Salt - Gaming and speedruns and speed run breakdowns
- Karl Jobst - Gaming and speedruns and cheating in speedruns and legal issues and why Billy Mitchell is a huge piece of shit
- 3Blue1Brown - The man with the world’s most soothing voice explains super complex mathematics in some of the best and clearest explained videos (visuals incredibly polished and also very soothing) I have ever seen. His series on linear algebra is no joke superior education compared to 2 full semesters of linear algebra I took in undergrad

Want to address the current headlines I quoted in my other comment?
They’ve got a right to express their side of things, of course, but pretending they are “credible” in terms of, you can take credulously the stuff that’s printed there, is absolute hilarilty.
I’m outraged that their followers want to kill politicians for real and have been making pretty credible attempts to do so
We all have, I guess, our pet peeves
I want to get off Mr. Walton's Health-Care-is-a-Business-Not-a-Human-Right Ride
I tend to assume that the accounts that spread the deliberately false rumor that led to this are Russian propaganda.
The account that was spreading the rumor looked to me more or less exactly like some that I think are clear Russian propaganda, and they got caught doing the same thing in the US (deliberately trying to bring anti-Muslim and Muslim demonstrators together so they would fight, in one case), and I would assume that for every time they get caught there are probably many many more where they didn't.
Are you trying to tell me "Iran said to dismiss US, Arab calls for restraint — even if it sparks war" and "IDF says slain Al Jazeera reporter was a Hamas commando, took part in Oct. 7 massacre" aren't fully credible, highly factual, left-center ways of summarizing what's currently happening in the Middle East?
There is a particular type of propaganda account that likes to insert nonsense into the discourse, just to interfere with people who want to have reasonable discussions. This article has more about it -- search for Peter Pomerantsev; he's quoted in that talking about it.
Of course I'm not saying the person you're replying to is doing that. I for-real genuinely have no idea whether it's that, or they're just a person with some odd ideas about geopolitics, and anyway it would be illegal for me to make that type of speculation.
It’s about 6 months too late, maybe more, but I’ll take it
Now maybe try some kind of fuckin consequences maybe, before another 10% of the population of Gaza gets buried under rubble or dies of scurvy or infection or being shot by a sniper
Oh COME THE FUCK ON
At this point MBFC bot is just taking the piss on purpose
“Okay, we finished the future machine. Hey future-machine, what’s gonna happen?”
“About 3 billion people will die and one continent worth of land become uninhabitable. A version of your civilization will survive, but unrecognizable to the people of today. You will lose many things you take for granted.”
“… that’s after the 0.9 degrees?”
“If you are lucky, yes.”
“… what about before?”
“Do you really want to know?”
The reality is, we just don’t know. I feel confident in saying it will get bad enough to kill food crops on a massive scale and a bunch of people will starve to death. How many is “a bunch”? I don’t know. Maybe billions. Maybe less.
But how bad it really could get, on the bad side, with as many tipping points as could exist, I think it’s impossible to say until it happens. Big changes in the earth’s climate have historically been big. The whole thing was a snowball for like 100 million years. Sometimes the ice caps melt and everything dies. Actually as I understand it, the pretty consistent answer for what happens when a big climate change happens is “almost everything dies” and then the survivors slowly adapt to the new reality. But it definitely wouldn’t be survivable for any kind of civilization (even just on pure food availability grounds) in a lot of the realistic scenarios.
I won't say you are wrong but 0.9°C savings is pretty fuckin beautiful to me
It's bittersweet but it's more than I thought it was
