Ha, we'll see. I liked the extensive copy-paste with its sourcing, but mods apparently didn't like me copy-pasting the same huge comment into any thread where someone started up with "we all agree Biden didn't do shit, it's so well known I don't even need to go into details, it's definitely just something we all agree on...". I do kind of get the objection to doing that, so I retyped it this time but still gave a link to the places the sources are found. We'll see what the mods do with it.

The quick list is biggest single action on climate change in US history, estimated to hit a 40% reduction in emissions by 2030, $144 billion forgiveness of student loan debt, lowest unemployment in 20 years (or 50 depending on how you count) even after the Covid apocalypse which most countries haven't even dug out from yet, wage inequality going down for the first time in I have no idea how long, Amazon paying $3 billion per quarter in corporate tax instead of the negative $1.2 billion they were paying before his corporate tax reform.

He vowed / attempted to do a certain amount more than that, yes, and getting that more stuff done also would be great too, but it's not like he's just been fucking off playing golf this whole time.

For what reason the news doesn't highlight that type of stuff and instead focuses on whatever they focus on, I have no idea.

Have you shown this person videos of sovereign citizens trying this against cops on the side of the road, or in court?

Having taken part in an effort to talk some sense into someone who was bound and determined on a self-destructive course with his life, I think the chance of success is small but nonzero. And, his brain might hearken back to it at whatever future point he inevitably starts experiencing physical in person consequences, and it might help him get out of the cycle at that point, even if nothing good happens before then.

Squid? Nginx? Not sure I understand the full scope of the question though

Verbal Judo is by far the best practical guidance on this kind of thing that I've seen.

There was actually a different talk that introduced me to it, where the same speaker was talking to an audience of cops, which I liked a little better. In that one he talked more specifically about the standard language of policing (often, giving people an order, and if they say no you just say it again louder or get physical with them) and how it's not the best way he found to be effective. He told a little story about a guy he arrested on a felony warrant (peacefully, after a while) who said he was the only cop who'd ever talked to him with respect. But, this video seems pretty on-target to what I liked about that original one (which I can't find right now for some reason).

You sound like Donald Trump getting all upset on Truth Social that someone's subjecting his actions to legal scrutiny, when he should be able to go around being bullshit and lying and it's some incredible breach of justice if someone tries to tell him that he shouldn't.

Because the assholes who run the news don't care, partly because they love money but mostly because they are just incredibly weird and out of touch people

Did you take linear algebra?

Did you ever understand eigenvectors? (I didn't.)

BEHOLD

They could have showed me this video, and saved me quite a lot of time and difficulty.

It would require ActivityPub to be prescriptive about how you're supposed to do certain elements of your application, if you choose to do those parts. This is Markdown, this is how you write a link to something in your instance, this is how you handle a threaded community, this is what disliking a message looks like. From my outsider's perspective it seems like it wouldn't have been that challenging to lay down guidelines for it.

Eh, whatever. I have my gripes but they're working on it and it seems okay. It just seems that each application is a sort of little walled garden that works (mostly) with other instances of the same app, but for anything other than that same app all bets are off, which seems like a shame.
