Last thought, I'm gonna put in my perennial plug for Fire on the Velvet Horizon as a good sourcebook, and if you go with option 1, this might be a case where you can actually pull stuff out of it at full strength instead of having to water it down so it doesn't take over the campaign.

In particular, you could scrap the whole Alice in Wonderland aesthetic and have them transported to something akin to a Brainstormer's palace from "Velvet Horizon" with an instance of the now-gibbering BBEG as one of the other inhabitants in addition to all sorts of other exciting stuff. That might let you make it a coherent enough experience to make it a memorable and appropriate capstone to the campaign. If they managed to overcome the not-really-sane-enough-to-properly-wish-themselves-to-victory antagonist, the whole edifice could then start coming apart at the edges of its reality and come crashing literally down to earth on some continent within the same world but that they've never been to before, leaving the adventurers with a limited amount of time to try to grab some exotic stuff from the wreckage before it all disintegrates or goes elsewhere, not suited for the sane light of day. (Also letting you start up some new stuff for a next campaign hook before they're able to make their way home.)

Glad if it is helpful

You need a subscription either way

GPT-4 costs from 0.01 to 0.12 per 1000 tokens depending on some details -- but regardless of that, it's not like chat type chat where you might have tons of small messages which each depend on the full 32k or whatever of context; each singular message usually has an explicit context for the stuff you want to tell it, and no more than 50-100 of them per day to implement your thing at most, so like 50 cents to a few dollars a day even at an obscene level of usage. Might be more than $20/month in total but more likely less.

Things would be so much better if Biden would break with US foreign policy and suddenly start opposing Israel on all their mass murder

Other than that, he's great (which is kind of an "Other than that Mrs. Lincoln" type of thing), and I think you're going to have a hell of a time finding an American politician who might have won the primary who might do anything against Israel. Wishing for Biden to oppose them seems way more realistic.

I think you are using "leftists" to mean something very different from what I mean when I say it.

He fought to communicate issues of racial justice and anti-corporate truth in media for years and years, then he quit broadcasting to be on a farm and just be with the animals. He came back to politics to fight for justice for workers with health issues. He is now returning again, currently to go on a nationally syndicated platform and make a compelling case with receipts, aimed at the mainstream, for why the continued murder of the Palestinians is a horrifying crime and why it can be laid directly at the feet of the Biden administration.

What would you prefer him to do that's better than that? Train for combat and go and kill Netanyahu with his bare hands?

I think there is a community on Lemmy that just likes hating everything, and if there's someone that's objectively un hateable they take it as a challenge

This morning was 177kb in and out, so call it 2/3 of it is input and 1/3 output, would mean roughly:

118k bytes input ≈ 29k tokens = 29 cents 59k bytes output ≈ 15k tokens = 45 cents

I think you may be correct in your assessment

Trump's actual statement on the thing seems almost guaranteed to piss everyone off.

  • It's so insane that it'll piss off the reality based community.
  • It's mildly pro-abortion, so it'll piss off the anti-woman community.
  • He looks angry and mean and genuinely a bit scary, so it'll alarm and put off the purely emotional-reaction-based community.

Yes by roughly an order of magnitude

Not sure if it's retro, but if you haven't checked out Grand Poo World 2 check it out.

If you are looking to play as opposed to just binge, though, just be warned that it pushes by quite a bit the theoretical limits of how hard a game can even be, and still be fun for people who can get good at it.

[–] mozz@mbin.grits.dev 2 points 1 year ago

Yeah, I feel you on this. It's tough though. The accurate answer is "Dude I'm fucking trying, the house is on fire and we got 10% of it put out even while there's a whole gang running around lighting more fires. I'm proud of the 10% but if you got the help to give me to get more I'd fucking love it."

But it's tough to say that and not have it sound impotent. People are weird in how they judge statements. It may feel to him like his two choices are either "hey things are great" (which, they aren't) or else "yeah you're right it sucks" (which is terrible because it undercuts everything significant he's been able to do).

Yeah, agreed.

And for the gang member to work his way out of that life is much much harder than for someone in the State Department to put active resistance against giving aid for Israel. Or for Pence to make his change, or whatever. And usually there's no one to help him with any of it.

There is only one answer: Rock out harder and indicate to them that you're having a good time.

If they're decent then they'll like it, and if they're not, then it'll do them good to get all irritated under their skin about it when they see that you're having fun. You're allowed to have fun.
