It’s always the slovenly and bad who are the most vocal about how we need virtue to come back.

It makes a certain type of sense tbh. “Look at me. I grew up in this society, and I am an unrepentant whore and shrill harpy with nothing at all to recommend me. My whole family are trashy and malicious in a way that makes even the normal functioning of day to day interaction a painful and humiliating reminder. If there is one thing that I know without fail that we need more of in this society, it is morality and decency to one another.”

Did you ever look at the nutritional information on the original Choco Taco?

I think one taco had about 50% of your recommended daily amount of saturated fat.

Bloody hell, you are right (well, sort of; apparently it's complex.) That's convenient for the map makers, I guess, although best of luck to them in enforcing any of it (and according to that article they've sort of clarified that that doesn't mean they're actually claiming the sea, as best as I can understand it.)

You will probably get your wish

This one, featuring the 1993 Red Army choir, is 100% real.

Probably so, yes. And honestly that's the right and the only outcome, sure. And that outcome is in their faces all the time; it's not like they can have any illusions about it. Remember so-and-so, and so-and-so, that we used to hang out with? That body on the road crumpled up that we just drove past, that was one of those guys. Better we're moving on from this area, then, I guess. Are we eating soon? I'm looking forward to it. Maybe tomorrow I'll die and be another of those crumpled up guys on the side of the road, or one of the burned out twisted things inside one of the vehicles, and just stay like that and everyone else going past and looking at what used to be me. Maybe it won't happen tomorrow. Looking forward to eating tonight.

Like I said, that's why his voice sounds like that.

The procedure I use for posting from Mbin is:

  • Try to just attach direct from the source with ![](https://whatever)
  • If that doesn’t work, attach the image to the message and save
  • And then edit the message and insert the self hosted image using that same markdown

Thus it’ll show on both mbin and Lemmy.

You could also fall back

No they can't. A long prison sentence in a Russian prison is their best case scenario from that.

They can try to surrender at the first good opportunity, is probably best, but that is also dangerous, maybe very dangerous if you have family back home that you are supporting. There are not options for the average solider on the ground that are any good at all (or for that matter for someone back at home who wants to try to stop the Putin machine), is part of this guy's voice sounds like that.

Isn't ActivityPub a wonderful protocol

I literally never understood the appeal of watching sports until I happened across a few high level video game streamers. I played sports, but never to any kind of competitive level, and watching it on TV just seemed like a massive boring waste of time. And then, I started seeing people playing games and being challenged and doing a good job and I was like HOLY SHIT THIS IS SO EXCITING I'M ON THE EDGE OF MY SEAT I UNDERSTAND IT NOW.
