I for real don’t get how they cannot see that it is just identifying the person saying it as a shill (if the rest of the message didn’t give it away somehow). Far far more that than any of the intended effect that it might have on the discourse

Idk, plenty of dumb shit has made its way into the discourse, so maybe I am the one that is wrong and if they just keep repeating it enough it will have some kind of intended impact. But I cannot imagine it working for them in a good way. It’s just too transparent and dumb.

There’s a longstanding thing in medicine that black people don’t feel as much pain as white people. It was never true, but for some reason it was believed for a long time.

Things like that are slowly changing, and dark-skin-color prosthetics and textbooks showing e.g. symptoms that present differently on dark skin as light skin, or testing drugs on women instead of only on men and assuming the women probably react like smaller men, etc etc. But a really surprising amount of it has survived even into the modern day.

enthusiasm

It’s an interesting day when you get to identify a new talking point

There is one in this comments section

Yeah

The race is not people deciding between Biden and Trump, but people on both sides who have made up their minds deciding whether or not to vote

Coincidentally, there is an enormous effort to paint voting as not worthwhile, and Biden as not good enough to be worthwhile bothering to vote for, aimed at left wing voters

build a grass-roots third party

I 100% agree with this, but good fuckin luck with that when Trump is shooting protestors and elections are cancelled until further notice

Nice try, New York Times

You can’t pretend you all of a sudden realized that Trump is a threat to all of American democracy and relay it to us like it’s breaking news and hope we’ll be gaslit into thanking you for informing us because we were not aware, and forget about all the coverage up until yesterday where you were explicitly favoring him for some horrifying reason

HTML5Up has some quite nice looking stuff without it being weird or impractical as (IMO) a lot of these design repositories are

Hugo themes, also, tend to show a good variety of stuff in practical applications, although most of them are a little bare bones / incomplete and you’ll have to do some work to flesh them out, if you’re trying to do more than a little blog site.

Idk, you may be looking for something more fanciful because you want to design something more for the fun aspect which is fine, but for realistic everyday design I like those guys

Yeah but we got to go to the moon so there’s that

They actually tried to just poach the research and have American researchers do it, but they weren’t up to the task. They had to put the Nazi scientists in charge before the rockets started really working.

so it lost any power in the media.

You better tell that to like 10% of the Democratic Party including e.g. Nancy Pelosi

Biden is way too old and it’s definitely a problem, but somehow they’ve absorbed not only the fact that it’s a problem but the inaccurate assessment of how much the electorate cares (for the most part, they still remember that Biden could walk out on stage thinking it’s 1945 and talking about onions on the belt and still be better than Trump). And also the “let’s have him withdraw and let’s not bother to put together a coherent plan for what happens afterwards” strategy for what should happen afterwards.

Honestly, you are right. I think people saw “Biden” and “return2ozma” and just assumed it was bullshit out of the gate. But it’s informative, it is fair. They even make sure to say every now and then a few times that of course let’s not forget while we’re talking about this mostly unrelated topic that Trump is the end of the world.

Hey that’s a good point I think I’ll start editorializing my post titles so I wear my perspective on my sleeve
