Ekeliger Artikel.

It is now two years old but this video sums up the challenges faced by Helion and how it is unlikely that they will get anywhere. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=3vUPhsFoniw

I won't disagree that loneliness is an issue in our society. But I don't think it is the only "problem". Anecdotally for me: I wasn't ready to have sex, a relationship or for dating for a long time. So I'm mostly happy to have taken that time. In previous generations you'd marry and have kids for a while at that point. I think we have a lot more room to grow individually today.

I hope they fucked with wrong company. Watch Valve become the best payment processor simply out of spite. Although there is no solution for reactionaries everywhere targeting porn and sex work.

Not sure where you got that from. China, Iran and frankly most of the world is still trading with Russia. Either openly or varying degrees of hidden. Otherwise Russia would have collapsed a long time ago.

That makes a lot of sense. But that this is even something plausible is insane.

Seems to be implemented, but waiting for Apples approval. https://codeberg.org/comaps/comaps/issues/435

I guess currently it's a chicken and egg situation for OEMs. They can't consider RISC-V based boards/laptops because there is no or minimal software for it. Also, porting to RISC-V can't be that expensive of an endeavor. Most unix software is already portable.

Can we not? Silicon Valley sucks and imo hasn't done anything innovative for a long time.

Well China did subsidize that industry massively, to a point were their domestic market is flooded with very low margins. So the market is already very distorted. But I find it hard to hate on that because flooding the market with electric vehicles and solar panels is better than anything economists are coming up with.

Don't worry too much. If the EU passes legislation for this, you'll likely benefit from it as well, similar to all the other pro consumer things spilling over.
