Discord is adding ads soon. Currently, they don't enforce the TOS violation of custom clients, but maybe after they add ads, they will begin to do so. I would be very careful with any of this.

There is a reason for this: https://yast.opensuse.org/

https://en.opensuse.org/Portal:YaST

Yast is opensuse's configuration/setup tool, and it's used in the installer.

You can also use it from the installed distro itself, even configuring things like grub.

It's already been done: https://github.com/seemoo-lab/opendrop

There are two problems:

  • Apple is able to make airdop so seamless because they ensure their devices support a special feature, wifi direct: https://apple.stackexchange.com/a/428700
  • Nothing stops apple from just changing how airdop works to break the open source version's compatibility.

I can't find the source code for this extension

Will wine be considered an emulator for this?

There are projects that let you run wine via an x86 translation layer on android, letting you play computer games on your phone.

Why? In case authentik goes down, so you can recover data? Or something else?

I am settting up authentik and other selfhosted services right now and my plan was for authentik to have all the accounts.

If you're not trying to create complex virtual networks, or have hardware accelerated graphics, VirtualBox can be a bit unintuitive, but has all of the features that VMWare makes you pay for, available for free.

One of the downsides to hardcoding snap to only be able to use a single repo/store is probably added difficulty in creating testing infra for testing if uploads/CI/CD work.

lol, one of the first one's I click on: https://snapcraft.io/test-snapd-public (by Canonical)

A basic buildable snap that is expected to be published in public mode

Maybe if they didn't insist on holding a monopoly over the store, they would be able to have an internal version of the store for testing, rather than cluttering the public one.

Have you tried running a vpn to your phone while tethering?

https://moonpiedumplings.github.io/guides/unrestricted-tethering/

I experimented with it a little bit, but it didn't go anywhere when I discovered my phone already proxies/NATs all my traffic.
