I think you're misunderstanding what "everything" means (it was "everything needed for a hello world") and trying to divert the discussion to whatever Web has devolved into, which is an abomination that's definitely unsuited for learning the ropes of software development.
The right to cross borders alone would require about a hundred revolutions. Which is a shame, because voting with our feet is a phenomenally good way of putting people in control of countries.
One doesn't "get privacy", privacy can't be bolted on. One starts with full privacy and then begins losing it to bad decisions, like choosing an inauditable OS that phones home and everything.
